Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that they have loaned defender Lorenzo Gordinho to Bloemfontein Celtic, in a deal that will see winger Kabelo Mahlasela making a move to Naturena.

Mahlasela has been linked with a move to Amakhosi and the club finally confirmed his arrival on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Mahlasela is an exciting winger who will be hoping to make a mark at the club.

“I’m grateful to be here. I believe I can grow and also help the team," said Mahlasela as Amakhosi confirmed the deal on Twitter.

Amakhosi supporters, however, will be hoping he can improve on getting more goals and assists. As a winger, Mahlasela would not be happy with his statistics of just one goal and two assists this season.

At 26, Mahlasela is at an age where he needs to deliver week in and out, especially now that he has signed for a club like Chiefs.

Gordinho, meawhile, has struggled for game time this season, as coach Steve Komphela has preferred Daniel Cardoso, while youngster Siyabonga Ngezana has worked his way into the starting line-up since his impressive debut against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 23-year-old Gordinho has made only seven appearances this season.
