Baroka FC CEO Morgan Mammila says they are not worried about losing midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase in January, saying there are other stars at the club.
Ntshangase will join Kaizer Chiefs when the transfer window opens next week.
The enterprising midfielder was linked with a move to Amakhosi before the start of the season, but he ended up joining Baroka from National First Division outfit Black Leopards.
On the day he was registered by Baroka, Ntshangase came on as a second half substitute against Orlando Pirates and did well.
Daily Sun reported today that the midfielder will wear the jersey number 10 at Naturena.
He has made 10 appearances for Bakgaga, with three assists.
“There’s that possibility that he will be going [to Chiefs]. There have been talks and everything could be sorted out. No, we are not worried about losing him now. It’s football language,” said Mammila, who was reluctant at first to talk about Ntshangase.
“Even when Ntshangase is gone, you won’t see a difference. He is a star, but we have other stars in the team. It’s one of those things that happen in football. That’s why there’s the stories of [Mesut] Ozil and [Alexis] Sanchez. You can’t run away from them.”
Mammila says on-loan midfielder Gift Motupa will stay with the club until the end of the season. Recent reports suggested that Motupa would be recalled early by his parent club Orlando Pirates.
“Gift is still with us. We agreed that it [the loan] is for the season.”
Baroka will be making signings in January, but Mammila did not want to reveal much.
“We are scared to talk too much. We wanted [Justin] Shonga and agents started running and taking him elsewhere. But come January we will make signings.”
