Wenger: Ozil negotiations ongoing

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists contract talks with Mesut Ozil are ongoing but refused to set a timeframe for when a deal could be struck.

The Germany international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners continue to struggle for major silverware both domestically and in Europe.

And while the north London giants are keen to retain the playmaker’s services, Wenger admits any decision is still in the air.

The tactician said on his club’s official website: “Negotiations are always going on with everybody. Is it two years to go? One year to go? Three months to go?

“The door is always open and for the rest I cannot tell you much more.”
