Klopp: Liverpool need Sturridge

Jurgen Klopp has urged Daniel Sturridge to put aside concerns over his future and focus on doing his job for Liverpool amid talks of a January exit.

The England international has struggled to force his way into the starting XI at Anfield this season and has been strongly linked with a move away from Merseyside in the New Year.

Klopp, though, says there are far too many matches coming up before January to start concerning himself with potential exits and hopes Sturridge can follow suit and put his focus into the Reds’ campaign.

"I can imagine a player with his quality is not happy that he is not starting all the time, but that's all," said Klopp.

"The situation with the player is completely OK. At this moment we are in November and need all our players - even if he feels a little different.

"There is around one-and-a-half months before the window opens and I don't think about things like this. There are so many games before then and I need all of them (his players)."
