A young England side played to a 0-0 draw with World champions Germany at Wembley Stadium on Friday evening.
The hosts carved out a chance as early as the second minute, but Tammy Abraham failed to convert Jamie Vardy's cross from six-yards out.
Germany went close to breaking the deadlock after 20 minutes as Leroy Sane unleashed a fine curling effort that crashed against the crossbar.
Three minutes later, Jordan Pickford showed his class by denying Timo Werner from close range before Phil Jones cleared Sane's effort off the line.
England went close just before the halftime break but Abraham's deflected effort sailed just wide of the upright.
The second half proved to be a quiet affair in the opening 20 minutes of the stanza.
The slow start prompted Joachim Low to withdraw Julian Draxler for Emre Can, while Gareth Southgate introduced Kyle Walker and Ryan Bertrand after 70 minutes.
The possession was evenly shared heading into the final 20 minutes of the half, while Marcus Rashford was also introduced for the home side.
However, England should have won the game in second-half stoppage time, but Jesse Lingard blazed over the crossbar from six-yards out.
The Three Lions will now face Brazil in another international friendly on Tuesday evening.
