Orlando Pirates defender Happy Jele looks set to miss the clash with Platinum Stars at FNB Stadium on Wednesday with an injury.

Jele sustained a knock to his Achilles tendon and is unlikely to recover in time, according to Bucs' medical team.

Utility player Gladwin Shitolo is also receiving treatment after hurting his quad in a friendly 10 days ago. He has been sidelined for much of the season with a muscular complaint.

"Shitolo is scheduled to start his final phase of rehab this week," explained rehabilitation specialist Stephan Plummer on the club's official website.

"He received a bad knock to his quad in the friendly game last week. We have been focusing on physiotherapy for the past week.”

Bucs midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni, winger Riyaad Norodien, and strikers Thabiso Kutumela and Lyle Foster were all slated to be available for the Dikwena tie when heading into the FIFA break.

Sangweni and Norodien have been working on their fitness following lengthy spells out, while Kutumela and Foster were nursing minor injuries at the time.
