Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane pointed out Orlando Pirates' positives as he delighted in his side's chance conversion rate on Saturday.
Downs waltzed to an emphatic 6-0 victory as they ripped a hapless Pirates defence to shreds, before the game was rudely interrupted by unruly fans.
Mosimane admitted that he did not expect such a glamorous scoreline in their favour, but was confident that they would come out victorious on the day.
"I was expecting three points, but not six [goals]," Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the match.
The reigning CAF coach of the year opted not to dwell on the negative stain left on the match, as he turned his attention to his troops' conversion rate in front of goals.
"These things do happen in football, but I don't want to focus more on that. I think it's also important to brand our game, and the league, well," he continued.
"These things do happen, but we don't encourage them. But I think we played well – we scored six goals.
"I've been asking the guys, 'when are we going to score enough goals from the opportunities we make?' and the opportunities were there today.
"But you know what, this game is a funny game. This is the only team this year [season] – Orlando Pirates – that has created holes in our defence."
Mosimane was praiseful of the Buccaneers' attack, which he felt thoroughly tested his side's new-look defence, while also pointing out their frailties at the back.
"Especially in the first 15 minutes, they created holes in our defence, and even as the game went on. They've got a brilliant, brilliant attack," he added.
"When they made so many changes to the players that played against Platinum Stars, and they still have Makola, Norodien, I mean, it's talent in abundance at Orlando Pirates.
"But we have to give them credit. They played well, attackingly obviously, but at the back they didn't do that well and we found chances, and our movement off the ball was a little too difficult for them. They don't follow runners.
"They also man-marked a little bit, but we then go with a third man running if you do that.
"But we are happy we scored six goals, we got three points. It was just an awkward game, it didn't flow well. It was spoilt, but it's one of those..."
