LIVE: Bafana 0 Brazil 5

Posted: 5 March 2014 Time: 07:05 pm

Follow KICK OFF for live scoring of tonight's high-profile international friendly between Bafana Bafana and Brazil.

FULLTIME: And that's it - game over as Brazil hammer Bafana 5-0 at Soccer City. A good performance by the visitors, a very poor performance by Bafana. Williams horribly exposed by his back-four.

90 - GOAL!! And there it is! Neymar gets his hat-trick, firing home from close range thanks to Jo's cushioned header.

89 - Neymar sooo close to the hat-trick. Gets the ball in the box, quick shift to the right and shoots, but luckily the ball gets a deflection and goes inches wide for a corner.

86 - Bafana now playing to avoid their heaviest ever defeat. Come on boys ... hold on!

79 - GOAL!!! Fernandinho with a thunderbolt from 30 yards out! Williams left with absolutely no chance! That's the Man City man's first for his country.

75 - Yellow Card: First of the match as Ramires, sporting a lovely mask, goes into the book for a late challenge.

74 - Great save Williams to deny Alves in one-on-one situation!

71 - 'No-look' pass from Neymar to Dani Alves, but Dean Furman tracks the run and clears the danger.

67 - Another chance for Brazil as Neymar ghosts past Ngcongca, but his chip to the far post just misses Dante's head.

64 - Sub: Dante replaces Chelsea defender David Luiz.

63 - First real chance for Bafana as Patosi finds space inside the area, but Julio Cesar makes a great save from point-blank range. What an introduction that would have been!

62 - Subs: Parker off and on comes Ayanda Patosi, while Jo comes on for Fred.

58 - Sub: The attacking Dani Alves replaces Marcelo.

55 - Sub: Bongani Zungu replaces Andile Jali.

52 - Sub: Another change for SA as Dino Ndlovu comes on for Daylon Claasen.

48 - Willian almost makes it 4-0 as he finds space down in the area, but his curling shot is inches wide of the right-hand upright.

46 - GOAL!!! Wowsers!!! 27 seconds in and it's 3-0 as Neymar chips Williams from the edge of the area.

46 - Subs: Ramires and Gustavo Ramires on for Oscar and Hulk, while Bafana bring on Oupa Manyisa for Tokelo Rantie.

The second half is about to kick off, and Brazil have changed from a yellow jersey to a blue one.

HALFTIME: Brazil are dominating proceedings, with the Bafana defence nowhere to be seen. Gordon Igesund will need to do some serious talking during the break...

45 + 2 - Best chance for Bafana as Furman dispossesses a Brazilian and runs at goal, but his shot from 25 yards goes just wide.

44 - Almost 3-0 as Marcelo bursts down the left and squares to Fred, but this time the Bafana defence works and Xulu hooves it clear.

41 - GOAL!! Neymar gets his goal this time! Again the Brazilian is afforded too much space, and he takes he chance as he slots past Williams with his left foot from the edge of the area.

39 - Neymar powers down the left and does a few stepovers, but Xulu stands his ground and takes the ball of the Barca man's feet. The youngster has done well since he has come on.

36 - More incisive movement from Brazil as Hulk gets into the box down the right, but Xulu does well to cut out the danger. Great defending that!

32 - Another long-range shot for SA - this time from Thabo Matlaba. Again, Cesar not troubled at all.

29 - Horrible defence again from Bafana as Neymar breaks straight through, but Williams with a great save one-on-one to deny the Barca superstar.

26 - It's been all Brazil in the first 25 minutes. One or two touches for Bafana, but Julio Cesar might as well go make a cup of tea.

21 - Neymar breaks down the left and looks to get a shot in, but Williams closes him down quickly and forces a corner.

19 - SUB: Siyanda Xulu replaces the injured Bongani Khumalo early on.

15 - Bafana look to hit back straight away, but the Brazil defence is well organised, meaning Bernard Parker tries a speculative effort from range which does not trouble Julio Cesar.

11 - Oscar had too much space there. Either Khumalo or Nthethe should have been much tighter.

10 - GOAL!!! SA 0 Brazil 1 (Oscar 10) Oscar with a perfect lob over Ronwen Williams after a through-ball from Hulk in midfield.

7 - First chance for Brazil as Hulk finds space down the right and feeds Fred at the near-post, but his shot goes over.

3 - Bafana with the first shot at goal as Dean Furman hits a long-range drive straight at Julio Cesar.

1 - We have kick off. Bafana playing from right to left.

SA starting XI: Williams, Ncongca, Matlaba, Khumalo, Nthethe (c), Furman, Jali, Serero, Claasen, Parker, Rantie

Brazil sarting XI: Júlio César, Rafinha, David Luiz, Thiago Silva (c), Marcelo, Paulinho, Fernandinho, Hulk, Oscar, Neymar, Fred

Ntethe and khumalo are the weakest lınk on thıs game, both of them they are too slowly they don't have pace and they don't read the game well.

I don't know what instructions were given to Matlaba but it looks like the space that he is leaving behind when going forward is going to be our downfall if something is not done while its still early

There is nothing wrong that Matlaba is doing, no one is giving him support, he goes forward and finds no one. Serero, Claasen and Rantie are absent.

It was expected, how do you partner Nthete and Bongani Khumalo then play useless players just because they play in Europe?

We need Mathoho at the back, Khumalo and Xulu are completely lost.

Serero, Claasen and Rantie their role is to attack.  Please look at the game and not turn this into Chiefs vs Pirates

Rantie is absent. Xulu should've started ahead of Khumalo, Nthethe is not national team material

But realy we are soft, we are losing the ball easly. We don't have any composure and depth.
