Kaizer Chiefs marksman Katlego Mphela tells KickOff.com he is pleased with how things went during his debut match against Maritzburg United on Tuesday night.
Defender Tefu Mashamaite rescued a point for the Glamour Boys as the two teams played to a 2-2 draw at Harry Gwala Stadium, while 'Killer' could have won the game for the log leaders towards the end but missed the target when he should have done better.
However, Mphela is still satisfied after playing his first match for the club he says he grew up supporting.
“It was great. Chiefs is a big club and it was an awesome feeling playing in front of that big crowd. It won’t take me long to settle into the team, because I know some of the guys from the national team,” he says.
“As for the chance I got, my sharpness [or lack thereof] was a big factor there. If I was sharp, that one could have gone in because I have scored most of my goals from that position.
“To be honest, my debut went quite okay, as I expected,” he adds.
