'Yeye' ruled out for AmaZulu

Posted: 20 December 2013 Time: 08:30 am

Stuart Baxter has confirmed that Reneilwe Letsholonyane will play no part in Kaizer Chiefs' final match of the year.

'Yeye' was stretchered off in the 64th minute in Amakhosi's 1-0 win over Golden Arrows last night, after straining the ligaments in his leg in a bad tackle.

He was replaced by Josta Dladla, who later was paired with Ivan Bukenya, who came on on 85 minutes.

Amakhosi take on AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday, but Letsholonyane has already been ruled out.

"He suffered an injury and he won't take part against AmaZulu, which is a big blow to us as he is fighter and you saw he worked like a lion," Baxter says.

"Of course, his services will be missed in the final round of matches.

"He will probably be back in January, that's what I'm hoping, because we've got so many games on the horizon.

"The break will help us a wee bit to recharge the guys' batteries and we will give them a formula of how to take care of themselves to stay fit and be prepared as we are just at the halfway line of the League."

Chiefs will be taking part in the CAF Champions League next season, and will meet their Namibian counterparts Black Africa FC in the opening round between 7 to 9 February, with the return duel scheduled for 14 to 16 February.

y cant you give the coach a chance to do his job, many coaches came to our club and said to be building the team for the coming season but nothing happened until last year when we were crowned psl champions doesn that count for something? why cant we support the team instead of pulling in different directions, come on man< the same clueless coach won us the league

I said it yesterday, Chiefs main focus is on defensive players, they busy renewing contracts of defensive players but fail to make successful deals for offensive/attacking players. Last night substitutions made were of defensive players, defending a penalty lead!!! These Zebras are taking this title defense way to serious

Eish, YEYE was lucky to come off the stretcher and walk on his own. It could have been really worse. The injury reminded me of Mhlongo and Jele

It will give him enough time to travel to Russia where he is going to have his looks re-arranged. Just like they sent Manyama to have his head fixed.

Yes he won us the league ,but we can't seat and say the coach is doing a good job, a team like chiefs don't sit back and defend a 1 goal lead, that's not our nature, the same happened against Tuks, we play good in the first half and switch off in the second half, teams like celtics will punish us, the coach needs to realise that the best form of defense is attack, he needs to start giving other players a chance to play after all chiefs is paying them month end am just tired of seeing many defenders in the team, in all the years that we were failing to win the league we were. Playing good football, it is sad for some of us who have been following this team for more than 2 decade to see it play this type of football this baxter is not a coach I v never seen his tactics he doesn't have. An eye to change the game. I love KC, but this coach is not the ryt coach for chiefs, coaches like mushin are good coaches cs they take risks the y give youngsters a chance to play, baxter preffers old players how do u justify gould playing ahead of mathoho, bukeya coming in instead of rusike, musona finishing the game, 80 min substitutions?
