AmaZulu assessing former Bucs striker

AmaZulu are assessing former youth international Makhosonke Bhengu as they continue their hunt for a dependable striker to alleviate their goalscoring woes that has seen them just eight goals in 16 League games.

Bhengu has spent the last five years playing in Hong Kong and the last two years at Sun Hei FC and Tuen Mun SA, where he has been in fine form.

The 29-year-old started off his professional career at Orlando Pirates a decade ago, but battled to establish himself before eventually moving to Asia, where he first played for Fourway Rangers.

Though the Hong Kong top-flight is still on, Bhengu has made known his desire to return home with AmaZulu suiting him well as they are based in his hometown of Durban.

KickOff.com has been told that Bhengu has looked hungry at training with the decision on whether to sign him or not due to be made this week.

KASONGA CLOSES IN ON THAI MOVE

Meanwhile, Usuthu defender Belux Bukasa Kasonga appears certain to complete a move to the Far East after making a huge impression at Thailand Premier League club Pattaya United.

Bukasa Kasonga left the country a week ago and in the few days there has already convinced the club that he is worthy of being signed ahead of the start of the Thai Premier League in four weeks.

“Belux has made a big impression in Thailand,” says Ali Tlhoaele, the agent who facilitated the trials for Bukasa Kasonga in Thailand.

The DR Congo-born defender hasn’t played for Usuthu so far this season as he has been awaiting the issuing of his permanent residency permit that will allow him to be registered as a non-foreigner.

With the protracted wait, Usuthu have given him the blessings to hunt down another club, though he still has a running contract with the club.

AmaZulu have in the meantime signed two central defenders Phumlani Mhamha and Namibian youngster Willem Mwedihanga, giving the biggest indication that they cannot wait any longer for Bukasa Kasonga’s papers.

The 33-year-old has been in South Africa since the 2004-05 season and has been at Usuthu since 2006.

"KickOff.com has been told that Bhengu has looked hungry at training"...The picture says it all. My question is how can the bogus Doctor/Colonel be so cruel as to send this poor to Asia at a tender age? Hayi khona maan, could have buffed up his pistol/okapi goons with this chap. He looks like a real chain snatcher.

KickOff.com has been told that Bhengu, the former orlando pirates messiah has looked HUNGRY at training with the decision on whether to sign him or not due
to be made this week. It is believed that Amazulu is racing against time to establish a proper feeding scheme within their ranks because they dont want to risk signing the hungry former Pirates crowd puller without knowing what they will offer him when he is hungry.
