Louis Saha to PSL?

Posted: 16 January 2013 Time: 01:23 pm

France international Louis Saha is looking to leave English Premier League side Sunderland, with South Africa a possible destination.

The 34-year-old signed for Sunderland on a one-year contract in August, but has not made a League start yet and is said to be unhappy at the club.

The Black Cats have agreed to cancel the remainder of Saha’s contract, with the Sunderland Echo suggesting that “a South African club” is interested in his signature.

Saha was reportedly earning £40,000 a week (R560,000) – which works out to R2.24-million a month. In the September issue of KICK OFF we revealed that a handful of top-earning PSL players – at Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs – are on salaries of R5-million a year, making a move to one 'big three' the only feasible option for Saha, with a significant pay-cut.

HAVE YOUR SAY HERE: Where do you think Saha could fit in the PSL?

Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill told the Sunderland Echo: “As of today, we have told Louis is free to speak to other clubs and to leave if he can fix himself up somewhere.

“We have come to an agreement whereby we will cancel the remainder of his contract, shake hands and go our separate ways.

“That said, we are still a bit short in terms of numbers and Louis may stay with us until the end of the month until such time as – hopefully – we have strengthened the squad a little more.

“But we agreed that he could go as early as today, if he wishes to.

“I have heard that there is some interest in South Africa for Louis and it might be of some interest to him.”

LOUIS Saha is ready to cut short his stint at Sunderland, with an unnamed South African club prepared to offer him an escape route.

The former Manchester United has grown disillusioned at being handed a bit-part role at the Stadium of Light after arriving on a one-year deal last summer.

Saha has not started a Premier League game for the Black Cats, and was only handed a spot on the bench for the first time in seven games for last night’s FA Cup third round replay with Bolton.

Sunderland have agreed to cancel the remainder of the French striker’s contract, and he is free to speak to other clubs from today, with a South African outfit already expressing an interest.

But Saha will not be forced out of the door immediately, and Martin O’Neill could well keep him at the club until the end of the month to give himself time to land a replacement, with Swansea’s Danny Graham at the top of his wish-list.

O’Neill told the Gazette: “As of today, we have told Louis he is free to speak to other clubs and to leave if he can fix himself up somewhere.

“We have come to an agreement whereby we will cancel the remainder of his contract, shake hands and go our separate ways.

“That said, we are still a bit short in terms of numbers, and Louis may stay with us until the end of the month until such time as – hopefully – we have strengthened the squad a little more.

“But we agreed that he could go as early as today, if he wishes to.

“I have heard that there is some interest in South Africa for Louis, and it might be of some interest to him.”

Saha was only signed as a stop-gap measure during the summer, to provide cover up front.

But O’Neill admits Saha has been disappointed both with his lack of playing time and his impact when he has got onto the field.

“I wasn’t expecting him to be starting 20 Premier League games on the trot or anything like that,” said O’Neill. “But I think he’s been disappointed.

“In fairness, I think he’s been disappointed when he’s come on to the field. I think he feels he might have been making a bigger impact.

“He’s had a chat to me, and I understand that.

“He maybe thought that he might have been involved once or twice more in games, and I’ve chosen not to.

“This man has had a really good career, and he didn’t want to be a bit-part in things.”

This is written Orlando Gayrats all over, check this out :

- the team recently prides itself by signing ex-European based players(Makati, Isaac Chansa and Boa Morte of the Gorrilla fame),
- the guy(Saha) has a French connection, just like Boa Morte (of the Gorrilla fame),
- age is on his side( at Gayrats, you're only good after turning 33yrs, e.g. Lecowthi, Sangcoweni, Josephs etc),
- Gayrats do not have a reliable striker at the moment, that Mato Madlal-product, Mbesuma, would only last as much as a tea bag does,
- Gayrats are going to participate in Africa( so they said the last time around when they signed Boa Morte of the Gorrilla fame),
- Makati's contract have not been renewed, no negotiations yet he's on the last 6months of this current contract,
- what Cowza whats, Cowza gets.......etc etc etc.

Kaizer Chiefs the richest according to google and its zapotas? If that's the case why don't they secure the services of the players that Pirates and Sundowns secure? If your business generate such a big sum of money and in turn don't spend on that business then what happens to that money? Give it to these loud mouth zapotas? They would be rich if that was the case, instead these broke loud mouths you see them everywhere wearing their fake replica jerseys.

They only get players that fight to play for them e.g Mr “Doll” Mathoho. I swear if he didn't fight to play for zebies he would wearing black or white or Yellow by now.

So to zebies zapotas stop fooling yourself by saying you don't want this old madalas coz the truth is you just can't afford them you fools.

And stop bragging about your top goalscores because come the end of the season that will be your only achievement and nothing to show for it.
