Highlands Park claimed their first away win of the Absa Premiership season with a 2-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic on Monday afternoon.
Highlands' intentions were from the onset when Lindokuhle Mbatha created space on the edge of the box to force a finger-tip save from Kabelo Dambe.
A good opportunity fell to Highlands and Mothobi Mvala on 18 minutes, but the midfielder steered his header over the crossbar.
The lanky Mvala broke the deadlock on 32 minutes with clinical finish into the roof of the net after Dambe had kept out the midfielder's initial headed effort.
In under a minute to added time, Lantshane Phalane’s long-range effort missed the goal by a whisker following a pass from the middle of the park.
Five minutes from returning for the second half, Phoka Mofokeng beared the brunt of Victor Gomes, who handed him his marching orders following a foul on Ndumiso Mabena.
Steve Komphela threw all his cards forward after taking off Tshepo Rikhotso for Victor Letsoalo to launch a come back.
On 61 minutes, the visitors lead was doubled following a snap-shot from Peter Shalulile after some poor defending from the Siwelele defence.
In just four minutes, Celtic reduced the deficit in breathtaking fashion with Kabelo Dlamini’s 25-yard free-kick finding the top corner.
Versuur missed an opportunity to extend Highlands' lead closer to full-time, but after finding himself out wide, he wide of the mark with only Dambe to beat.
In the final minutes, Celtic pushed for an equaliser but the Tembisa side remained resolute to walk away with three points.
