Usuthu too strong for Celtic

AmaZulu overpowered Bloemfontein Celtic with a 3-0 defeat in the Absa Premiership with the help of a brace from Emiliano Tade.

Usuthu pushed hard for the opener, with a long range effort from Marc Van Heerden forcing Patrick Tignyemb to get down for the save.

Celtic missed the chance for an early lead after Menzi Masuku was put through face-to-face with Siyabonga Mbatha to lob him, but the former read the signs and thwarted him well in the end.

Usuthu created the best chance of the entire half after a first-time left-footed shot from Emiliano Tade rattled the post from the edge of the area.

A double chance fell for the KZN side again when Ovidy Karuru shot agonizingly wide before Tade took a turn with an effort from a tight angle which also sailed wide.

The positive spell continued for the home side who managed to charge down at their opponents in a fast-pace manner.

Tade handed them the lead on 55 minutes after dummying his marker to beat Tignyemb at the near post from a tight angle.

Starring successive defeats, Celtic pushed numbers in attack to try and get a quick response but a free-kick from Lantshane Phalane went haywire.

Usuthu doubled the lead inside the final quarter from the penalty spot after a foul inside the box, allowing Tade to complete his brace.

The game was running out of the grasp for Siwelele, and further misery struck when Lorenzo Gordinho was given a straight red following a professional foul on Bonginkosi Ntuli.

Veteran Siyabonga Nomvethe completed the rout with a low curling free-kick which went underneath the hands of Tignyemb to move them off the bottom-two.
