MATTHEW BOOTH, BAFANA BAFANA
Matthew Booth says so far Bafana Bafana's camp in Brazil has been challenging, but positive for the players.
"It's very hot in the afternoons, but we have cooler thunder showers in evening - quite similar to Joburg in summer," the big Mamelodi Sundowns centre back says.
"We're having two training sessions a day and the players have been working very hard ... it's been impressive.
"The lads are sleeping in between sessions as we don't have energy to do anything else," Booth laughs.
Booth, who hails from Fish Hoek in Cape Town, is rooming with one of the newer caps, Franklin Cale who also comes from that suburb.
"I'm rooming with my new Sundowns teammate Franklin. Some of us are still struggling with the five hour time difference to back home, but we are starting to settle in nicely as a group," Booth says.
"Yesterday Safa's Head of Delegation (HOD) complimented us on our professionalism and told us to 'keep it up', which was positive to hear."
Kick Off readers are assured by Booth that the training camp has all the necessary requirements and decent training fields.
