HENYEKANE SIGNS WITH SUNDOWNS

Golden Arrows striker Richard Henyekane has reportedly agreed to a three-year contract with Mamelodi Sundowns and will be making his way to Chloorkop in July.

KickOff.com has been told by sources close to the Abafana Bes’thende striker, who will be travelling to Brazil with the Bafana Bafana squad later this month, that he has already signed a pre-contract.

Reports are that the Brazilians are bringing in the Kimberley-born hitman as a replacement for the PSL’s leading goalscorer Katlego Mphela, who is heading to Europe for trials as both an English and French club are interested in his services.

It is also understood that the club’s technical department, headed by Hristo Stoitchkov, is marketing Mphela in Spain, where they have extensive links.

Henyekane will move to Chloorkop as a free agent next season after he failed to agree on terms with Arrows over a new contract. Arrows had been keen to renew the deal of the speedy forward, whose goals last season captured the imagination of many, but apparently the club didn’t meet his demands.

The 26-year-old wanted a hefty salary increment plus a huge signing on fee which Arrows didn’t agree to, but which Sundowns quickly met as they seek to have a ready-made replacement with the imminent departure of Mphela.

Never rated you highly and going to Downs you are going to be heavily exposed! At Arrows you played in a well-rounded team who knew what team-play was all about. Going to Downs you going to play with big egos so your days are numbered boy! Sorry I do not want to sound negative but facts are facts!
