Match report: Orlando Pirates beat Djabal Club in CAF Champions League second leg

Posted: 2 March 2013 Time: 15:56

Orlando Pirates beat Djabal Club 4-0 in their CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg tie in Comoros on Saturday.

Pirates thumped Djabal 5-0 in their first leg tie at Orlando Stadium, with Takesure Chinyama netting four, and upped the aggregate score to 9-0 today for an easy victory.

The match was played in searing heat, but Bucs came out of the blocks quickly, putting pressure on their hosts from the first minute.

They were rewarded just six minutes in, when Thulasiwe Mbuyane opened the scoring.

Just two minutes Mbuyane turned provider, when he turned in a cross for Ndumiso Mabena to hit home.

Half and hour in Mabena missed a clear opportunity to make it three, although the ball was bouncing al over the artificial pitch.

Frustration started to show in the Djabal players as the game headed for half-time, with both teams suffering in the heat.

Roger de Sa brought on Khethokwakhe Masuku for the second half as Bucs kept their dominance up.

10 minutes into the second 45, Takesure Chinyama made it three for the Buccaneers, but the intense heat slowed the game down.

Onyekachi Okonkwo added a fourth a few seconds from time as Pirates showed no intentions of sitting back.

Pirates will next play the winner between Mbabane Swallows and Zanaco FC of Zambia. Zanaco won that first leg tie 3-2, with the second leg to be played in Mbabane, Swaziland. The First Round, first leg matches take place on the weekend of March 15-17.

Orlando Pirates line-up: Meyiwa, Jele, Phungwayo, Gcaba, Lekgwathi, Ntshumayelo, Okonkwo, Segolela, Mbuyane, Mabena, Chinyama

Subs: Mhlongo, Nzunga, Masalesa, Bester, Jali, Makola, Masuku

Like I said Before, I will say it again. The League in which Djabal is playing in is smaller than the league in which Maluti-Fly-by-Night is playing in.

I'd like to also encourage the Champ that gives us the live tweets on Twitter...

My Champ, you need to step up your game.... we saw what Karyn Maughan & Barry Bateman can do with minute for minute updates on Twitter regarding the OP bail hearing....

Thanks for the updates but do better...

May I suggest another innovative means for the away games to reach The Ghost...

though we might view the away games with 5 minute delays... I suggest that our away games be recorded in nine 10 minute intervals then post them on YouTube for use to view...

In this way we can also judge forvoyrselves whether The Dream Team is giving their all, or they are just being lucky or even unlucky on the field...

You can never please the haters with their constant Haterism tendencies.

We will never hear the end of Maluti and quite frankly we at the Bucs camp couldn't give two cents or pennies about it. They called our first leg win a "fluke" and predicted we'd lose 6-0 away since according to them, "we're bad travelers" even though statisticaly this season we've had a better away record than home. But like Sepp Blatter said, "When you mention 'football' some people in some parts of the world think of that funny looking ball played with helmets being thrown around." Chimps faithFools can identify perfectly with this statement as their knowledge, if any, of football (soccer) is not sound. And as our Honourable Chairman said, "they think like K@ffirs," can also be attached to these animals because their comments are just full of waffle; no sense of direction whatsoever!

Yes, when we (Buccaneers) comment, we comment with FACTS even coupled with quotes from two most powerful men in football; Sepp Blatter and Irvin Khoza! This in the name of stating simple points to tissue brains, as any level higher than that bayo bila izinqondo.

Up The Bucs and shout out to my fellow Generals CJB Ramses III, Lord Vinny, KING?, Champ Marapo, Mhlonitjwa (ukuphi baba), Msenthi 15, Nerspray a.k.a. The Ever Fortified Buccaneer, KidKudu7 and of course the Iron Lady Maminzela!
