Kaizer Chiefs came from a goal down to beat Moroka Swallows on Saturday evening

Kaizer Chiefs came from a goal down to beat Moroka Swallows 3-1 in a League match on Saturday evening.

The Dube Birds took an early lead through Giorgi Nergadze, but Chiefs responded through a brace from Bernard Parker before George Lebese added a third late in the second half.

The home side came close to taking the lead in the third minute when Siyabonga Nomvete beat Itumeleng Khune with a thunderous strike from the edge of the box, but the veteran was denied by the crossbar.

Greg Etafia then pulled off two good saves at the other end, denying George Lebese in the ninth minute before stopping another effort from Kingston Nkhatha in five minutes later.

Swallows broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Nergadze nodded home at the far post, connecting with Lerato Chabangu’s corner.

The hosts had a golden chance to double their lead five minutes later when they were awarded a penalty as Chabangu went down inside the box under a challenge from Khune.

Katlego Mashego beat Khune twice from the spot, but was ordered to retake his penalty kick on both occasions as Nomvete was guilty of encroachment.

Khune took advantage of the situation as he dived to his right to stop the former Orlando Pirates striker’s third effort.

Chiefs leveled matters in the 31st minute as Parker collected a back-heeled pass from Nkhatha before drilling a low shot across Etafia and into the back of the net.

Zeca Marques’ side applied pressure early in the second half but Nomvete and Lefa Tsutsulupa were denied by good defensive blocks in the 47th minute.

Nkhatha should have put his side ahead a minute later when he got in ahead of Etafia to meet a cross from Tshabalala, only to send his header over the crossbar.

However, Chiefs did take the lead six minutes later as Parker fired home from inside the box after receiving a cutback cross from Siyabonga Nkosi.

Lebese sealed the comeback win in the 72nd minute as he broke the offside trap to latch onto a pass from Tshabalala before placing the ball past Etafia.

Dear Captain Lecowthi
Mr Kaizer Motaung has noted that you have bankrupt Virgin Active by embarking on lifting trophies instead of using barbells that are available at Virgin Active. He is asking you to do what you have done to Leon Prins and Augusto but this time bring the PSL trophy at 4am on the 29th April to Naturena offices and save yourself an embarassment.

Your kind compliance will be very much appreciated without prejudice.
