Platinum Stars beat Bidvest Wits 2-1

Posted: 17 April 2013 Time: 21:28

Platinum Stars came from a goal down to beat Bidvest Wits 2-1 and close the gap on log leaders Kaizer Chiefs to just four points.

The Students had taken an early lead through Ryan Chapman.

However, Dikwena levelled on the stroke of half-time through Mogakolodi Ngele, before the Botswana international converted the winning penalty in the second half.

The match sprung into action in only the second minute when Enocent Mkhabela had a close-range header saved by Wits keeper Emille Baron after Thuso Phala had done well to send a pin-point cross in from the right.

The home side then took the lead on 21 minutes, with Sibusiso Vilakazi playing a pin-point pass to find Chapman, who chipped over Stars goalie Siyabonga Mpontshane.

Wits could have taken a two-goal lead into the interval when they were awarded a penalty after defender Tshepo Gumede fouled Vilakazi in the 35th minute, but the same player saw his effort saved by Mpontshane.

The Clever Boys were made to pay for that miss as Stars equalised a minute before halftime through Ngele. Dikwena striker Henrico Botes laid the ball to the Botswana international, who powered a low shot that beat Baron.

Then, on 60 minutes, Wits’ Sandile Sibande handled in the box, and Ngele made no mistake as he coolly finished from the spot.

We Gonna Kill This Platinum Stars. We Don't want to Ask other Teams to Help us to Win the Absa Title & We are Going to Beat Dikwena with a Big Score. Love & Peace.
========================
No Khosilam we shouldn't talk like pirates supporters that we will kill our opponents .We need to play our cards rite this is the time to play mind games,do our things in door like TP Mazembe they don't want media before the game now against pirates and they did that against Botswana team. They only allow media after the game.Mind games and If you can clearly check Calvin Jonson is doing that at Dikwena. We can only celebrate like that after our game with them

I stand to be corrected Makhosi

Chiefs lost their game against Dikwena on a hot summer afternoon. They're playing a return game scheduled just like the previous game.
This is potemtially a decider for the league tittle. If the game is played as scheduled, Chiefs has a slight victory chance unless it was an evening factor

This team is playing well and has a bit of luck on their side. Twice in a row they came frm a goal down to win the match 2 1. The only team to have our beating in the league this season. But come the 28th April they gon get got!! Its our turn and we gonna give a performance of the season. We not gonna be beat by the same team twice in one season. Khosi 4 eternity!!

I call upon all Chiefs supporters and players/technical team to relax a bit, let us not put our team under unnecessary presure.Let us try to soak this presure by dealing with P.Stars but starting with swallows. We need to win the first three of our remaining games then it will be over.

Platinum Stars has lost 7 games so far and KC has lost, what???, just 1. Why people think KC should be scared buffles me. Anyways, KC will deal with them on the 28th of April and all the detractors may just be silenced. Cavin Johnson can continue with his mind games, KC don't MIND (no pun intended).

If Chiefs win the game this suterday and bit P/Stars in the next game, it will mean that they will be 58 points and P/stars will be 51 with the 3 points from Chippa this weekend

That will mean Chiefs can be crown with just a win or 2 draws.
