Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows draw 0-0

Posted: 6 April 2013 Time: 16:58

Kaizer Chiefs were held to a second consecutive draw following a 0-0 stalemate on Saturday afternoon.

Chiefs played most of the match with 10 men after Reneilwe Letsholonyane was shown a red card, while the game was also held up after a fan ran onto the field to confront referee Lwandile Mfiki.

Chiefs thought they had scored in the eighth minute, but Lehlohonolo Majoro was ruled offside. Two minutes later Chiefs keeper Khune was forced to make a good save after Tshepo Liphoko unleashed a brilliant shot from 18-yards out.

Majoro had another chance just before the half-hour mark when he found himself one-on-one with the keeper, but he shot wide.

The game then turned on its head when Letsholonyane was shown a red carded for a late challenge on Liphoko. Chiefs players and the bench protested the decision, before the fan made his way onto the pitch and tried to hit Mfiki with a vuvuzela.

Liphoko had another great opportunity late in the game when he received the ball on the left and fired a shot at Khune, but it went across the face of goal.

Two minutes later Chiefs got a break with Majoro setting up Siboniso Gaxa, but he lobbed his effort over the bar, before Siphiwe Tshabalala hit the side-netting with the last kick of the game.

There was more drama after the final whistle when Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter refused to shake Arrows counterpart Manqoba Mngqithi’s hand, with the latter saying: “I wanted to shake hand but he didn't want to, he can go to hell.”

The moment of truth has arrived. For pirates, its on wednesday or never. Chiefs is on pressure especially going into a pltinum stars game which will be a craker of a game. SSU is also in lying like a puff adder under the leave debris waiting for a tresspasser. Pirates will also face an uphill battle against bottom of the lig teams. LI CHELE!!!!

I'm suprised that ppl (chiefs) dat referee 'screwed' them, well I hav 2 questions 4 u guys.did da referee award arrows a penalty wen da ball hit mashamaite's hand? Did da referee give a penalty when the ball hit morgan's arm? If no then wat did he do exactly dat 'screwed' u? Give yeye a red card? Well I won't say if yeye deservd or did not deserv a red card but wat I saw was not a foul or a late tackle but an act of insanity.the intention was not to play da ball but to cause pain,da referee had 2 do sumthng n I'm sure da linesman is da 1 dat suggestd dat yeye be sent off.not every1 is against chiefs,u r just feeling da heat n u thnk thers a conspiracy against u #Its not over till da last game #mzansi99

Seems we doing what we did last season. Last season we drew and lost lots of games and I'm afraid we heading there. This game was an opportunity to extend our lead and the players were just complacent. We need fresher legs in Gaxa's position. We definitely don't need S.Nkosi in this team. Why play this cow and leave the ever green Baloyi on the bench. Baxter we respect and love you but S. Nkosi is not a chiefs material. He must be donated to black leopards for Monama. The ref was harsh on the red card, yeye went in and pulled out, it was a yellow card offense NOT straight red. We were also denied a clear goal but I won't dwell on it as Arrows were denied a penalty(even though it was not a guaranteed goal)

Both coaches need to apologize publicly for disrespecting the game of football.

Lastly, congratulations to pirates for flying the flag. Even though I'm a Khosi, I have nothing but respect and best wishes for your team. We need our players to take this competition seriously and at this stage pirates is doing exceptionally well. Good luck

4 me after all has happened and all has been done, I think Chiefs showed brilliant commitment and played well, they were playing against 12 men whilst they are 10 on the field, 1 point against 12 men was a good results.

we have 5 more games to go, we r not backing off we will play till the last match, Pie-rats won't get nothing.

in regards to the SA referes i said it before but in SA if you complain they say you don't want to lose now lets argue because it happened next door where they are always stubbon when we tell them about the refering in SA.
our refs are kiling the game now you will agree because its eating you fools thanks mfiki because they were never going to agree
