Kaizer Chiefs beat Bloemfontein Celtic

Posted: 31 March 2013 Time: 17:38

Kaizer Chiefs took a giant step towards winning the League title following a 3-0 win against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Kingston Nkhatha, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Josta Dladla secured Chiefs their 14th win of the season.

The Glamour Boys’ victory meant that they move seven points clear of rivals and defending champions Orlando Pirates, who played to a goalless draw with University of Pretoria on Sunday night.

Celtic started well, but Chiefs were first on the scoresheet through Nkhatha, who ran onto Tshabalala’s miscued strike before burying past Patrick Tignyemb.

Morgan Gould seemed to have handled the ball inside the area in the 21st minute of the game, but the referee incorrectly adjudged the defender to be outside the area.

Letladi Madubanya unleashed a fierce shot from the resulting free-kick, but Itumeleng Khune was up to the task.

Erick Mathoho had a great chance to score against his old club in the 34th minute corner, but he was unable to hit the target.

Celtic had another great chance to draw level just four minutes before the break. Lennox Bacela made a good run down the right and played a dangerous ball into the area, but Joel Mogorosi could not reach the ball.

Celtic again started the second half well, but Chiefs scored next through Tshabalala.

Bernard Parker played the ball into the path of an unmarked Tshabalala on the edge of the area; the midfielder’s shot took a wicked deflection off Dominic Isaacs and ended up in the back of the net.

Dladla added insult to injury in the last minute of the game, scoring from close range to secure an impressive victory. The second half substitute combined with fellow replacement Lehlohonolo Majoro for the goal.

Kingston was not off-side, here's the definition and the interpretation:

Offside position

It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.

A player is in an offside position if:

•he is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent

A player is not in an offside position if:

•he is in his own half of the field of play or
•he is level with the second-last opponent or
•he is level with the last two opponents

“nearer to his opponents’ goal line” means that any part of a player’s head,
body or feet is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the
second-last opponent. The arms are not included in this definition

Yes we will still drop points in our remaining games and GORILLAS also, i actually gave away 6 points to CELTICS and SSU now we are over the first hurdle...one to go, the rest will suffer big time including SWAISWAI as 4 GORILLAS, DOWNS is going to kill u they create chances mkre than wat i can say abt u!!!!

Not yet my champ! Not yet! Phela if you throw in the towel now there is no reason to head to the University of Orlando for a league match becuase that would mean you are cheering the team on for a second place finish. That is unthinkable as we are only satisfied with one position and position only! I know it's hard and so much has gone wrong but if the maths says we are still in this thing then we really can't give up! But if you can't, worry not my fellow sea robber me and Nespray shall carry you and others on our shoulders. We cannot let the Black Pearl sink without a fight!

Something that I've noticed is that we are missing Josephs in the last 10 minutes of the game. You know when the spirits are down he leads the dance as we toets the chassis as it were. We really miss that! It's not over ghebu!

Well done to Kaizer Chiefs it does not look like they are willing to let it slip. As hurtful as i am i agree they have 2012-2013 ABSA premership trophy in hand. Only Chiefs can stop Chiefs now. CONGRADULATIONS. As for my team Pirates we were really hit hard by injuries to key players it was not easy at all for our fringe players to fly our pirates flag high. There are questions also relating to tactics which our coach uses even though it is evident that they are not working.

RISE KHOSI RISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
