Orlando Pirates beat Bidvest Wits

Posted: 24 November 2012 Time: 19:55

Goals from Thabo Matlaba and Tlou Segelola saw Orlando Pirates beat Bidvest Wits 2-0 at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

With Kaizer Chiefs having lost to Platinum Stars earlier in the day, Bucs were desperate for the win to close the gap at the top of the standings.

The Clever Boys started the game in a very defensive manner and seemed to have frustrated the home side until a moment of brilliance by Matlaba secured the opening goal.

It was a goal against the run of play in the 33rd minute. Matlaba got the ball just over the half way line and he did not wait too long until firing in a thunderous long-range attempt, which sailed high and over Ryan Harrison and into the top corner.

In the 42nd minute Calvin Kadi and Sibusiso Vilakazi combined well, but Pirates were quick enough to stop the potential danger.

It took three minutes into the second half for Bucs keeper Senzo Meyiwa to have his first save of the game from Ofentse Nato, who just could not get enough power behind his effort.

Then in the 55th minute came the moment of controversy as Wits had a penalty appeal turned down. Calvin Kadi beat Siyabonga Sangweni for pace and the Bucs defender seemed to clip the striker in the box, but the referee waved play on.

And it was Pirates who scored the next goal. This time, Matlaba supplied the ball to Segolela, who flicked the ball over the advancing Harrison for another fine goal.

Let's agree then with the Zebra's and their Marawa for the sake of peace, Kadi should have got a penalty! Would Wits have scored! Or Segolela failed to score? Idiots always reminisce on what should have been, and miss the facts. Pirates created their luck and emerged victorious. That is a fact in football, you win some or you loose some. Those who believe that it was a penalty they should consider watching rugby or cricket and leave football lovers alone.

Penalty to Wits my right foot, that incident happened outside the penalty area. Ok then the score is 2-1.

The zebras are ####### in their pants.

For all those morons who say it was a penalty, well, Sangweni held Kadi outside the penalty area. Kadi fell inside the penalty area which means if the referee had spotted a foul, it would've been a freekick outside the penalty area.

Gosh! These Zebras lack football knowledge. The CV chef's game plan is failing and the Champs are closing in on the tortoises. Can you stand the pressure? No you can't. Where are those headlines about 'who can stop chiefs?' We told that you can't trust articles from Zimbabwe. Hehehe on the 8th we won't be going on top. Instead we will extend out lead on the top because you won't beat Ajax. Hehehe reclaiming the glCOWry days

Die if u will, I dunno why ppl complain when Bucs win their games!!, they question the referee's decision to justify their hatred...But when Bucs lost against Celtics we had a referee who gave what you may call a doubious penalty, And we (Bucs) accepted the loss...Now some angry and bitter folks just want Bucs to lose.

Eish!!! Chimps lost and we won!!! I honestly would've wanted these zebras to draw or win today so that come 8 December we would've had the pleasure of inflicting the first blow on these animals. Reason being, I don't believe in kicking an endangered species like Zebras more down than they are already.

Oh well, guess a kick in the gut on 8 December will just be the ultimate slay and kill off for these animals! Can't wait!

Iminwe, Minanwa, PHEZULU!!!!! Bona what I mean as a dedication to the Zebra faithFools...
