Kaizer Chiefs beat Chippa United on Saturday night.

Posted: 29 September 2012 Time: 21:13

Tefu Mashamaite and Lehlohonolo Majoro scored Kaizer Chiefs’ 14th and 15th goal of the League season as the Soweto Giants did away with Chippa United, beating the Premiership rookies 2-0 at Soccer City on Saturday night.

The first 45 minutes saw the Amakhosi firmly in control as they dictated the midfield battle and almost create chances in front of goal at will.

Siphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane in particular were combing well and creating havoc for the Chippa team with their defence splitting passes.

Still, despite their utter domination of the game, Chiefs’ first real chance of the game came in the 36th minute when Letsholonyane slipped parker through on goal with a great pass on the edge of the box.

Parker, though, saw his attempted toe-poke well smothered by Kassaly Daouda who was quick of his line to advert the danger.

In the 39th minute, however, the home side would not be denied the opening goal of the match.

Parker turned provider as he whipped in a corner-kick that saw Tefu Mashamaite rise above the Chippa defence and the goalkeeper, who came off his line to collect the ball, to head home into an empty net, 1-0.

Parker should really have doubled his side’s lead three minutes later when Letsholonyane again put him through on goal with a delicate pass, but the striker fired wide with just the keeper to beat.

In the 52nd minute only a brilliant save from Kassaly denied second half substitute, Majoro, a goal diving full stretch to the right to parry away a 16-yard shot form the striker.

Finally, Chiefs made their pressure tell in the 59th minute and put the result beyond doubt as Majoro scored his second goal in as many matches coming off the bench.

Tshabalala provided a delicate cross from the right edge of the 18-yard box and Majoro did brilliantly getting ahead of his marker to head the ball home while on the move from ten-yards out, 2-0.

The result means Chiefs remain unbeaten in the league and stay on top of the Premiership standings.

Every player is capable of scoring goals at Chiefs. Parker is there to create and add to his tally till he reaches 33 in this season only.
