Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United draw

Posted: 26 September 2012 Time: 20:21

Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday evening.

In the most boring game so far this season, Asatuye Nyondo wasted a golden chance in the 18th minute when Mabhuti Khenyeza flicked on a pass but, with only the keeper to beat, he sent the ball well over the bar from six yards out.

Nyasha Mushekwi had a better chance for Sundowns in the 29th minute when he beat the offside trap and was one-on-one with Ronwen Williams, but his first touch let him down, allowing the keeper to gather.

A minute later the Zimbabwean striker nearly made up for the error, but his header from a corner rattled against the crossbar.

The Brazilians had another chance to take the lead when in the 41st minute Esrom Nyandoro released a rocket from 20 yards out, but Williams held on.

SuperSport came closest after the break, with Wayne Sandilands needing to be at his best to keep out Bevan Fransman’s flicked header.

The home side should have had the winner in the 84th minute when substitute Eleazar Rodgers had only Williams to beat, but the striker’s attempted lob was comfortably saved.

Two minutes later Edward Manqele again failed to net when Tebogo Langermann sent in a pin-point cross; Williams again saving well to ensure a share of the spoils.

The problem with Sundowns is Rre motsepe himself. I guess the players got fat bonuses for salvaging a point against Super sport!!!!! But why pay bonuses when the team plays kaak. At Chiefs players r motivated by seeing the stadium being almost full every time they play not by stupid bonuses. So kabo nyellow stop blaming Trott for nothing. The problem is that light skinny dude who claimed to have played soccer in Swaziland. Rise khosi rise. Reclaiming the glory. Amakhosi a jabulile

PRIOR to the start of last night's Tshwane derby, Mamelodi Sundowns supporters played a song asking their late star Gift Leremi to help them end their losing streak.

They say 'every cloud has a silver lining': we as Downs fans must admit that we have a problem since the beginning of the season: last year though we didn't win the league , we had those moments that brought us hope: continuity should have been what Downs team is doing but the results are just otherwise: Pirates, Swallows and Chiefs have all got new coaches but yet display an entertaining football compared to us: Neeskens is very stubborn with his systems: 4 3 3 and a 4 5 1 ....these have cost us not only the games but also our type of play: I'm not against our coach but I'm not happy now that our games will be straining since he wants to win but yet afraid of loosing:

Our defence played very, very well (just one of the positives) but midfield of Esrom and Hlompo was just a disgrace-they couldn't even complete 10 passes behlangene: the substitutions was also ridiculous, Neeskens have ama subs before even the game starts-ukuthi today I will take out uPelembe or Laffor but really Langerman should have been rested before even the start of the second half: is he justifying the signings of the players he suggested or wanted:

I believe in faith and hope is all we have as Downs fans but ke we should support our team cos phela it's ours, we can run but we can't hide from that fact: I would like to be one of the fans who will stand by his team even through dark days....a fan / supporter is not someone who always blow ama vuvuzela when his team is doing well but who also understand that just a graph : there are times when the team will fall and rise, again: To Downs' fans, yes it never rains but pour for us but 'change' is just inevitable cos it is the essence of life: We are down but that's the position when we shall lift up our eyes (not to the hills this time) but to hope: The Game Wa Sundawana

Sundowns is nothing without "TEKO", Coach u dnt ambition to win, yo starting XI was vry poor. e.g. check combination btwn Rogers and Manqele, yet u use them at the last 10 minutes of the game. I dnt andastand why u sideline Sangweni. U want to win bt u play defensiv game, why u cnt use attacking midfield instead of Nyandora, Langerman and others. U HAVE 7 STRICKERS yet u use 1 stricker.............I rest my case bt I wil olwayz remain Yelo.

Something 'amazing' about south african league is that a top team and the bottom team may be just be separated by less than 10 points - if you can recall last season: Pirates after they were beaten by Maritzburg United (where Benni got a controversial red card): ama bhakabhaka were on the relegation zone that time but when the league was about to end: those who already had the names of their team engraved on the Cup were fighting for Caf spot....One thing common about south african fans is that they always perceive football njengo baba omkhulu, so we end up finding the one and the same mentality when it comes to football: so obviously, we can't argue in terms of intelligence or understanding rather on our personal feelings about our teams and rivals....

Mamelodi Sundowns will meet those who claim to have scooped the league sometime before the season ends, Pirates are the defending champions, Chiefs and Maritzburg United are occupying the top spots: No disrespect to all these teams but ke we will be counted with or amongst them come the end of the season: what don't kill you will always make you stronger: we drew last night but ke we still here and mark my words'....we will find the turning point and that time some people will be talking about fatigue , injuries, supspensions and inconsistency....The Game wali Sundawana,,,my blood is yellow and my flow is mellow....The Sky Is The Limit till Chiefs admit Pirates ke bosso....

mxm Naskeen is a clueless coach he cant even read a game how can he say we played well after the game coz Sundowns played kak yesterday if we may tok the truth,i dont knw what is Laffor doing in each and every game coz since he came to Sundowns he haz done nothing beside playing nonsense and go for injuries as for Langeman i dont knw what were you doing wena slima i am surprise coz some players like Chabangu and mashego thay play wel when they play against former team why did u fail to do that with ur black mnyamane laffor,i am sure our team wil now play for top 8 if noe relegation zone as for coach u a stil going to loose moren more weight wena coz u dont knw what u doing ,wena Mushekwi u costed us 2 points with ur big head nxa as for those who says we have to be behind our team thru dark nd light we have many thing to do than waisting time how long are we to wait for good results

as for coach u ve bin with the team almost 18 months now but up to date u dont have combination i think u shuld leave our team

Oh really? The most boring game of the season. If your hatred was not so disgusting it would be shameful. I have watched more boring zero zero derbies than I care to count. Suddenly everyone is an expert on how to execute opprtunities. WE WILL BE BACK

Let's waIt and see how BEST to handle the umbrella, from the loud zoo neighbours. We are not fazed a bit. We are Masandawana!
