Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United draw

Posted: 26 September 2012 Time: 20:21

Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday evening.

In the most boring game so far this season, Asatuye Nyondo wasted a golden chance in the 18th minute when Mabhuti Khenyeza flicked on a pass but, with only the keeper to beat, he sent the ball well over the bar from six yards out.

Nyasha Mushekwi had a better chance for Sundowns in the 29th minute when he beat the offside trap and was one-on-one with Ronwen Williams, but his first touch let him down, allowing the keeper to gather.

A minute later the Zimbabwean striker nearly made up for the error, but his header from a corner rattled against the crossbar.

The Brazilians had another chance to take the lead when in the 41st minute Esrom Nyandoro released a rocket from 20 yards out, but Williams held on.

SuperSport came closest after the break, with Wayne Sandilands needing to be at his best to keep out Bevan Fransman’s flicked header.

The home side should have had the winner in the 84th minute when substitute Eleazar Rodgers had only Williams to beat, but the striker’s attempted lob was comfortably saved.

Two minutes later Edward Manqele again failed to net when Tebogo Langermann sent in a pin-point cross; Williams again saving well to ensure a share of the spoils.

Lest we forget this Marabastad FC is not only embarrassing it's 5000 fans but also that of Chibuku FC fans. In their desire to spite the Mighty Chiefs Chibuku FC like Fong King always tell us that the lig is between Chibuku FC and Marabastad FC.

The Mighty Amakhosi is now 9 points above Marabastad and this's gap will continue growing until the title is delivered at Naturena come May2013.

Looking at the results last nite I can't wait for weekend. Chippa United won their match against Celtic and Swallows lost theirs and they will be up against Marabastad on Sunday. These results spell danger for certain teams.

For the Mighty Amakhosi it is a good thing that Chippa won cos this means our boys will not take this team lightly. We are guaranteed another fat 3 points here and a few goals.

Chibuku FC on the other hand will be playing in front of 30000 fans in Bloemfontein, something they are not used to. Celtic will be very dangerous coming from a loss to Chippa so I can only see a Celtic win here. Chibuku will be happy to come back with a draw.

Marabastad FC are in deep shit. They will be up against a Swallows team that lost its midweek game and will like to make amends. Hooo thaaaaaaaaaaaaaataaaaa banna !

One would swear Sundowns was playing alone last night...all the Chimps and Gorillas hooligans are blaming one team for skop and donor football that was displayed last night...but I was also dissapointed too...KBY dark or blue!

Motsepe pays to have this thing televised...#yawn

@ MosixtyWhat a bore. This thing of DSTV and SABC televising one game while ther r other games taking place is not on. Maybe other games wher more entertaining. Only Chiefs and Black leopards r the ones who makes sure they score in each game they play and consistently entertains their supporters. That's a FACT
I still dont understand,to me it doesnt make sense at all.
I thought when PSL and Multichoice signed a deal it meant that only the Derby between Rats & Zebras,Semifinals and Finals of KO competitions will be shown by both Broadcasters, but i got it wrong because almost every week ther is a game which is showed both by SABC and DSTV

G Hunt really love Sundowns he did not bring his best team to play Sundowns instead he brought the fringe players (Mdledle,Mdluli,Nyondo,Erasmus,Kekane and R Williams) and those who are coming back from injuries or ill-fit players yet Neeskens boys failed to win.I will repeat what I said last year in December Motsepe must buy Neeskens a one way ticket to Holland this coach has proven he has nothing more to offer or else Sundowns will fight relegation come end of May.He can'nt beat even the weak Supersport team sis man bayasinyanyisa

Clearely Neeskens is totally lost. This is not the Sundowns I can protect from KC & Pirates hooligans. We have all of a sudden turned into laughing stock, just because the President has vowed to stick with a Coach who evidently has failed to motivate his squard. In the absense of Teko one would have thought Nyatama would have nade a better replacement but as fate would have it the poor guy did what Downs supporters should learn to live with, brought in non-creative players. Route-1 type football was never mearnt for Downs & due to desperation Downs have started to also play it.
Rre Motsepe please rescue us from this misery, other wise I and many others shall stay home & watch this boring team on TV.

I suggested to Mr Trot at the end of the season to buy B Fransman,Mor Diouf or A Mokoena guess what they opt for W Arendse, Ghanian defender and A Schut (Dutch-man), I wonder how many games these players will play come end of the season mark my words come open window Trot will buy more players and release more under "Beefing up the team" until when baba Trot angazi? Makaxoshwe bo you are a failure you have failed in the past decate to take Downs to top since 2003 when Motsepe took over.

If Sundowns game was not televised on SABC were will you have seen it. SABC and some of you ignorant fools were under the impression that Downs supporters will burn the stadium if we drew or loose. that`s the reason why that game was the main focus.

4-1 was a big mistake go and apologise to Chiefs so that u can start winning again.Otherwise look at Santos where they are now,I said the same thing and they refused.Do not celebrate and talk too much when u beat Khosi and Bucs.

Is this the Supersport that beat Pirates 3-0? Downs will get there, it was just sheer luck to Supersport.

Sh!t, don't know what Langerman has done to deserve a full game, he does not contribute much, crosses the ball poorly (except for that one cross to Manqele), Manqele was supposed to have been introduced earlier, at some point both teams seemed content with a draw. The biggest downfall of the coach will be his favouritism, large up to the Alje Schut is calm on the ball and tackle swell.

@ The Game, I fully agree with the Langerman issue, there is more to it than meets the eye, the guy was absent yesterday, and in other games as well but the coach sees otherwise. We will turn the corner indeed, those that are already predicting relegation are simply swimming in the puke of their drunken excitement
