Kaizer Chiefs beat Bidvest Wits 3-1 in a League clash

Kaizer Chiefs beat Bidvest Wits 3-1 in a League clash at Mbombela Stadium on Monday evening to go five points clear at the top of the table.

The Chiefs goals were scored by Lehlohonolo Majoro and a brace from Bernard Parker while Calvin Kadi scored for Wits.

Chiefs were the better side in the first-half, but the Clever Boys will be disappointed that they failed to convert most of the good chances they created after the break.

The first chance of the match fell for Kingston Nkhatha in the 8th minute as he did well to control a long pass from Siboniso Gaxa, but the Zimbabwean was denied by a good save from teenage goalkeeper Steven Hoffman.

However, Chiefs did manage to break the deadlock five minutes later as Parker bundled the ball in at the far post, following some good work from George Lebese on the left.

Nkhatha would have another chance to get his name on the score sheet in the 32nd minute, but he sent his shot wide before Siphiwe Tshabalala did the same on the stroke of half time.

However, the lead was doubled in the 36th minute when the Wits defence failed to clear a cross from Gaxa, allowing Lebese to feed Parker who then shot past Hoffman to grab his brace from close range.

The second half saw Wits seeing most of the ball possession and keeping the Chiefs defence on their toes as substitute Asive Langwe attacked on the right, while Kadi operated on the left.

The latter was unfortunate not to reduce the deficit in the 53rd minute after meeting a Bryce Moon cross with a powerful header, but Khune was at the right place at the right time to keep the ball from going over the line.

Fourteen minutes later it was Langwe who went on a superb run through the defence before finding Matthew Pattison unmarked near the penalty spot, but the former Mamelodi Sundowns man ballooned his shot over the crossbar.

Then in the 69th minute Erwin Isaacs tested Khune with a stinging long range effort, but the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was equal to the task as he kept the ball from sneaking inside his left post.

Wits were eventually rewarded for their positive play in the second half ten minutes from the end of regular time when Kadi came flying in to volley home from another brilliant cross from Langwe.

Nevertheless, Wits chances of claiming a point from the game were ended in the 89th minute when Reneilwe Letsholonyane played the perfect ball to find Majoro on the right, who made no mistake as he calmly slotted past Hoffman to seal the win for Amakhosi.

I think now is the time of majoro to play after Baxter gave a chance to nkatha but to me that chance he decide to not used it and majoro was the top goal scored last season of kc look nkatha how many chance he lost yesterday

Once again just like against Black Leopards in terms of chances created, the result is not a true reflection of the game. Wits should have won by atleast 5 goals to 3 if they could have utilised their chances. I wonder what will happen when these Zebras meet the undisputed champions of the League.

Those easy tap ins goals scored by Zebras even my 2 year old son would have scored them, against that teenager Keeper which was making silly mistakes.

If that Jambo cow can be skinned alive by Bryce Moon, i wonder what will happen against the terrifying skills of Myeni and Sox.

To be honest Kaizer Chiefs is not convincing as people may potray it to be. I mean they play the boring Skop and donor football, not really organized. I hear people saying they play as team but i don't agree with that. They are always divided into 2 or 3 teams and that will be suicidal against organized teams like Orlando Pirates.

They are just like the Sundowns of last season, play skop and donor, the duff duff run duff duff run and get a goal or 2 in the first 45 minutes and then the second half they think about Woolworths staff.

Ofcourse you can cook a CV but you will never cook a treble.

Pathetic Rat,always has something negative to say while we're busy collecting 3 points and banging goals like its nobody's biznis. If your Gorillas are so organised how come theyve been playing dissapointing football, winning by dobious penalties,MOLESTED back to back huh?
By the way, what were you hoping by staling the cable with your Izinyoka mate "King?".U thot the game would be stooped?IZINYOKANYOKA.
@ truth my khosi
pleas dont entertain this dubious comments we know no club can keep up with our style of play and remember in a few years to come this type of football will be played by home brewed talent like barcelona do. if this is the system kaizer motaung wants baxter to help develop den im happy. all we can do as supportes is emulate the attendance at mbombela stadium. let dis faggot tell u about a single club dat is so consistent the whole 90 minutes, none not even barcelona, madrid, united, juventus, baryen do that. AMakhosi ajabulile. yoyoyoyo aya baba.
