Free State Stars and Kaizer Chiefs draw 0-0

Posted: 1 September 2012 Time: 16:54

Kaizer Chiefs and Free State Stars dropped their first points of the League campaign with a goalless draw on Saturday afternoon.

The match took place in extremely windy conditions at Charles Mopeli Stadium in QwaQwa, which made passing difficult.

From the outset it was clear that the Stars midfield were not going to give Chiefs any time on the ball as tackles came flying in thick and fast.

But despite the pressure Siyabonga Nkosi was able to fashion a chance, setting Kingston Nkhatha through on goal with a sublime pass. However, the Chiefs striker fired straight at the keeper.

Stars’ only real chance of the half came in the 33rd minute due to some sloppy marking at a corner-kick. The ball was whipped in and Paulus Masehe was able to rise above his marker to get his head on the ball, but luckily for Chiefs he headed wide from six-yards out.

Chiefs should really have taken the lead two minutes before the break when a Siphiwe Tshabalala corner found Mulomowandau Mathoho unmarked at the back post, but he also headed wide from about four yards out.

The second 45 saw Chiefs tire a bit and they struggled to create clear-cut chances. Stars, on the other hand, came into the game and while they could not break down the Chiefs defence, they did try their luck from long range on numerous occasions.

Ea Lla Koto’s best effort came in the 70th minute when Luyolo Nomandela let fly from 25 yards out, but Itumeleng Khune produced a great acrobatic save to deny him.

In the end neither side could break the deadlock as the teams shared the spoils, both dropping their first points of the league season.

We didn't score in 90 minutes and we are pissed off. We are angry!!

Unlike some other teams who don't score in 270minutes and their players say "No need to push panic buttons"

They celebrated our 2 draws against Bus parkers FC and after Bus parkers were helped by Hobo Smith the noise from Nazoorena farm was even worse. Now their Bachimp internationals cnt score. where was parker? Where was Nyawana? what was Lemfenenyane doing? Even the referee tried to help them by adding more munites, perhaps like the champs they cn score. Dont worry Machimpazees Parker wil score 4 at Hollard soccer Zone on Monday.

The teams tht were playing haven't lost their at least one of their last two games(cup or league...it doesn't matter)

Bebesabana straight which resulted to a dull game.

I'm nt happy with a nil-nil draw, cos we know who specialises in those. We can't b followers

Kaizer Chimpanzee coach is doing very well considering how low the standard is at Nazoorena. Any player that wants to make it at national level must join this team Bafoon Bafoon, they wil automatically be selected by Gordon. e.g. Matho, a cow of significant note.

As long as we don't go 270 minutes without ejaculation then i won't stress much about a draw against Steve Kompela's lads, the only draw that i will be worried about is a draw against Palacious's Gorillas...

Wow. It seems the Flames of Parafin is coming down so slowly. From 6-0 to 2-1 to 0-0. What is the next score for this Zebras maybe they gonna lose 2-1 then 4-0 then 6-0.
