Kaizer Chiefs hammer AmaZulu

Posted: 11 August 2012 Time: 20:09

Bernard Parker scored four goals as Kaizer Chiefs got their Premiership campaign off to a flying start with a 6-0 win over AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening.

Both sides started the game slowly and showed signs of rustiness as they lost possession easily in the middle of the park.

From the 26th minute onwards Stuart Baxter’s men seemed to go up a gear as they started to dominate the midfield and Siphiwe Tshabalala went on a great run and received the ball back from Nkhatha, but his shot was parried away by Kapini.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 38th minute as Josta Dladla cut in from the right before finding Parker just outside the box and he showed composure as he stepped away from Tsweu Mokoro before placing his low shot past Kapini.

The lead was extended just three minutes later as Erick Mathoho connected with a corner from Siphiwe Tshabalala but saw his header tipped onto the crossbar; however, Nkhatha was the quickest man to react as he volleyed the ball into the back of the net, 2-0.

Parker then had a great chance on the stroke of half-time as he received a low cross from Josta Dladla, but the former FC Twente player sent his effort over the crossbar.

Then in the 57th minute Chiefs stretched their lead as Parker received a pass from Reneilwe Letsholonyane on the right before firing past Kapini at the near post.

Parker grabbed his hat-trick in the 65th minute as he received another pass from Letsholonyane on the right and cut inside before curling the ball into the net at the far post using his left foot.

Seven minutes later Parker scored his fourth goal of the match as he received a pass from Nkosi inside the box and showed his international experience as he beat Kapini with a neat chip.

Despite their strongest efforts AmaZulu were unable to get past the Chiefs defence which showed great improvement from the side which lost 4-1 against Sundowns in a Cup game last weekend.

The demolition was completed in the 90th minute as Parker turned from scorer to provider as he cut the ball across for Nkosi to beat Kapini with a well-taken right-footed shot.

Congrat chimpanzees, at leat you have made amendements after the FOUR one loss last week, but the reality is that you'll never bring this super perFOURmance into the TOP 8 competition as you were kicked out by FOUR goals to 1.....
Also the team that won trebble back to back will be there to upset your overzealous ambitions of winning this quarter...

let's continue and be ruthless infront of goals this season. i bet some teams will come back with nothing against Amazulu, nevermind 6-0. While some are getting dubious penalties lets do what we know best; fight on our own.

Some are wetting their pants already, knowing that anticipation of death is worse than death itself.

Khosi x 6 !!!

Phefeni Boy: this is not the firts time Chiefs start a season like this. Ask Sundowns what happens when u score like this. Sundowns moered teams but what came out of it. Its not about the goals u score, its about the consistency in collecting maximum points. Pirates went 16 games unbeaten. Chiefs is toying with your feelings, the team stil lack match winners n quality players.

Orlando Amazulu 0 - 6 Kaizer Chiefs Yoooh!

I agree this is the score some teams will forever dream of.

Analyzing the game i still feel the central midfield is too exposed or they are not aggressive enough. Nkosi should be taken through his paces. Mobility is needed in the middle of the park so to totally relieve our defense.

Either way........iKhosi Alipheli Umoya! 6 pack will do right now.

In the joys & elations of victory it is when a team should be most retrospective.... the counter-attack-park-the-bus style is going to hurt mazamban' in the not so distant future... Chiefs will not always be playing with a team that uses Simelane as a central midfielder....

The one's who always talk about rising, should rise to the occasion an quickly petition Baxter & Khumalo for plan B... Otherwise there will be no rising with a team that always seeks to attack on transitions...

At this rate by the time the league is half way the Mighty Chiefs would be having a SUPERIOR goal difference just like the BRAND KAIZER CHIEFS IS SUPERIOR TO THE REST IN PSL.
