Kaizer Chiefs booked their place in the MTN8 Final on Saturday night

Posted: 27 August 2011 Time: 22:22

Kaizer Chiefs booked their place in the MTN8 final, thanks to a 1-1 draw with Ajax Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday night, a result which sees them through on the away goals rule.

First half action in front of a full house was fast and furious with no quarter asked or given, as both sides showed their hunger and determination.

Chiefs started brightly, but didn’t have too much to show in front of goal for their efforts as the Ajax rearguard held firm.

There was a shot from distance by Tinashe Nengomashe after 18 minutes which gave Sean Roberts a bit of a scare, while in the 35th minute Siphiwe Tshabalala should have done better than his somewhat casual shot after being nicely set up by Lehlononolo Majoro, following a slick move.

At the other end of the field, Chiefs keeper Ithumeleng Khune was having a quiet time - the only time his goal came under threat was after 30 minutes, when George Maluleka released Terror Fanteni, but his parting shot was off target.

After a chanceless start to the second stanza, Majoro did manage to fashion space for a 61st minute shot with some quick feet, but sent his angled effort just over the bar.

With over 150 minutes played over the two legs and no goals scored, it was clearly going to take something special to separate the sides and this is what happened in the 65th minute when Bernard Parker sent in a teasing cross towards the back post, where Josta Dladla arrived to score with a powerful downward header.

Seven minutes later the game had its second goal, this time from Ajax as a lovely build up ended with Lebo Manyama squaring for Fanteni, who finished emphatically into the bottom corner.

The Cape side threw numbers forward as they searched for a winner, but they could simply not find the way past a determined AmaKhosi defence for a second time.

Majoro is selfish & useles
qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq

Meneer, Majoro laid two champaign passes for Shabba n Baloyi. If that count as selfish and useless then he is doing a good job. By the way, u really admire our team, u watch the game, an@lyse and comment? The saying is true: there are only two teams in the psl, namely Chiefs and the rest.

Der is nothing special about zebras win, luck was wid dem. Ajax lacks dempth, Serero & Doutie left a huge gap. Sister Baloyi played well & sister Majoro is selfish & useles. Josta is in da same gay club wid motaung jnr while sister Parker plays lyk a winger & wil never score in an open play. Sister itumeleng conceeds every week, it could b menstration. Once a pirate until kaizer & son grows hair, Up the Bucs!
