Moroka Swallows beat Bidvest Wits 3-1

Posted: 15 October 2011 Time: 17:14

Siyabonga Nomvete scored twice as Moroka Swallows recorded a 3-1 away win over Bidvest Wits on Saturday afternoon.

Nomvete cancelled out a superb opening goal from the Clever Boys’ Ryan Chapman to leave the score at 1-1 at the break.

He then notched up his second with just 12 minutes to play and Mpho Maleka added a third as the Birds continued their fine form – this is a fourth win from their last five matches.

But Wits will rue a penalty miss by Stanton Fredericks with the score at 2-1.

Wits got off to the best possible start, opening the scoring after just three minutes through Chapman, who rifled home a cracking left-footed shot from just outside the penalty area.

The Birds made it 1-1 in the 43rd minute when Nomvete bundled the ball home from close range, taking advantage of a mistimed header from the usually reliable Mbulelo Mabizela.

The teams continued to cancel each other out until the last 12 minutes when Swallows went ahead for the first time. Nomvete scored a fine solo goal, gliding beyond Derrick Spencer with his pace before beating Energy Murambadoro at his near post with a crisp finish.

The Clever Boys had an immediate opportunity to equalise when they were gifted a soft penalty. However, substitute Fredericks saw his casually-taken effort saved by Greg Etafia – the man who had been harshly penalised for a supposed foul on Sibusiso Vilakazi.

The Birds then killed off the game in the 81st minute, cutting Wits apart on the counter-attack beforeMaleka coolly finished off the chance to make it 3-1 and secure a fine away win for the Soweto side.

Wits have themselves to Blame what a poor showing from Them they were all over Swallows in the first half and as for Mngomezulu,Myeni,Phungwayo,Mabizela and Spencer honestly guys you killed you team and i once asked as to why is Myeni given the captaincy because it all went to his heard.

Roger please, please wake up before its too late even a blind man can see that theres division in your team Why was Jayiya not played on the right hand side of the field, when he gets balls he passes them but they don't share it i just smell a Rat where there's Myeni.

When Mngomezulu receive balls he passes them to the left what happened to playing both sides. Honestly to Sifiso and Phungwayo Guys you cannot force success it comes naturally with what you doing on the field of play really it shows us who you really are period and thats why you didn't want to go and play for Sundowns because you dont want to compete together with Phungwayo please guys grow up.

My Question is to Roger and their Captain Myeni

How can your Skillful player play 15 minutes without touching the ball whilst the left hand side is playing hows that a coincident.
Why didn't Myeni take that penalty as a captain
Why do you have favourites in your team
Why was Mngomezulu not taken out as he failed dismally
Where was Gumede,Mngomeni
Do you give Myeni and Phungwayo tongue lashing for loosing balls unnecessarily.
