Golden Arrows beat Kaizer Chiefs in Polokwane

Posted: 28 September 2011 Time: 21:12

George Lebese missed a penalty in the dying minutes as Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-1 to Golden Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Arrows had led 2-0 at halftime after goals from Collins Mbesuma and Musa Bilankulu.

However, Chiefs were much better after the break and pulled one back through substitute Lebese.

They were then awarded a chance to grab a share of the spoils after a horror decision by referee Robert Sithole, but Lebese fired wide.

The opening minutes of the match saw both teams passing the ball around crisply and accurately on what was an immaculate playing surface.

However, just as Chiefs started to gain the ascendancy, some poor marking saw them go a goal behind in the 13th minute – Mbesuma tapping in after Itumeleng Khune spilled Dillon Sheppard’s volley.

Amakhosi were unable to create any real clear-cut chances on goal. Instead, their only real shot on goal was an outrageous effort from Tefu Mashamaite in the 22nd minute – a shot-cum-clearance from the halfway line which forced Helton da Rocha into a smart save.

Four minutes later, however, and the home side saw themselves going a second goal behind, again through some slack marking. Sheppard whipped a corner into the box and Bilankulu got his head to the ball, ahead of the defence, at the front post, flicking it into the goal.

The start of the second half saw Vladimir Vermezovic make an immediate change, replacing Josta Dladla with Lebese – and it paid off right away.

Only seven minutes after the restart and Lebese pulled a goal back for Chiefs after a left foot cross from Jimmy Jambo was deflected and fell to the substitute just inside the 18-yard box. He made no mistake, powerfully driving the ball into the roof of the net.

The rest of the half saw Arrows sitting back in defence trying to defend their lead and, thanks to some poor finishing by Chiefs, they were able to hold onto it.

Lebese’s miss from the spot was just reward for a horrible decision by the match official, and bought Arrows coach Ernst Middendorp some more time to try and save his job.

Who is scouting for young talent at Chiefs?? Do we have Pro?? Who is the Communication Manager?? What is Bobby's role?? Why is Bobby doing all the interview for the team, The Website does not even tell us why some other players are not making a bench.

The questions have started again, they will win their next game and hail VV and Bobby. These fans are confused. When we remind them, we get insults.

So guys all of a sudden VV and Bobby must go and your players are average.

Gents, Ladies, gays and Lesbians!

Chiefs management as a whole starting from Bobby to Kaizer (Snr) Motaung and his Board of Directors are to be blamed for the latest developments at Chiefs! As an Executive Chairman, how does he allow such a directive to be impose on his Manager (Coach), without proper resources?

Points to ponder on:

1. What must VV do if he is given a mandate to win a league, but the same management sell three key players (Musona, Nahayo and Masenamela), It is fact that Vv was using this three players concurrently to form a team that can play competitively. Now what where the replacements, Majoro,Ritchie and Mashamayite...who still need to gell with the so-called senior players at Chiefs.

Management had commercialise this team a lot!

For any team to win a league, you need palyers who will understand each very well. VV was doing that, guess what, top management had other ideas, and the defensive response you will receive will be that, we need to deliver financial returns to our shareholders. lol!

I am die-hard Chiefs supporter, but, my team will never win the league as long this short-term strategy is used...We need a long-term plan. For instance, Extend VV's contract to seven years, appoint a national palyer scouting person to get you players... I mean there are a lot of skilful players here in Mzansi...Bobby to be re-deployed somewhere else not close to football activities. Give more of the development players a chance to play at the senior team level. Stop this thing of going to Zimbabwe only to scout for players...that is so low!

Chiefs must bid for one quality striker and one quality defender.PERIOD!

VV, is also not exonerated from all this nonsensical playing at Chiefs.

Where is Nale, Yende,Masango, Khune (L), Baartman,etcetc.

1. Nengomasha should sacrificed...he is causing too much free kicks around the box....and this thing of [playing a defensive mid-field is old-fashion and outdated...this guy must be benched. Period!

2. YeYe, Shabba, Khune, Dladla and Tau, I think they are too relaxed, since they know that even if they can be injured the coach will sacrifice whoever was doing well in their absence and field them.EG. Baloyi was doing well in the absence of Yeye!

3. Shabba and Khune (I) are tired, they need to be rested. Period!

4. Why is Ngcobo still at Chiefs? It beats me. The guy is just not there!

5. VV is slowly destroying Yende and Nale. Period!

Here is the starting eleven VV should try, just for once!

1. Baartman (Khiune to be seated at the stands)
2. Molekwane (Tau to be benched)
3. Jambo
4. Isaacs (Sweswe is too erratic)
5. Mashamayite
6. Baloyi (Nengomasha to be benched)
7. Masango ( Dladla: stands)
8. Yende (Yeye to be benched)
9. Majoro
10. Parker
11. Lebese

This can do wonders, I mean this big headed so-called senior players must be made to fight for their positions or go to join Sundowns(Retirement Village)

Those are my gums!

Chiefs used to send shivers down the spine of the opponents not this current players.

The last time Chiefs had a strong team was in 1992.

We said Zebras don't hav depth & quality but vivian said all is well. What does Pitso see on Yeye, Shaba da captain, Parker , Khune and Majoro? This average players don't deserve Bafana call ups and they're reason why we struggle to qualify! We hav Maluleka, Fanteni, and Nazeer Allie all at Ajax who deserve call ups and not dis average ladies of natirena. Vivian is killing players and all of dem are demoralized as reflected by thier body languages. Rise khosi rise..where mara? They hav the most ugliest shirt in history & u expect dem 2 rice? Maybe Jessica is refering 2 TASTIC RICE! Bribe khosi bribe is da slogan! Once & always until jimmy Tau wins da league wid Zebras! Up the Bucs!
