Vasco da Gama deny Kaizer Chiefs three points

Posted: 1 March 2011 Time: 22:01

Kaizer Chiefs endured a frustrating goalless draw against Vasco da Gama on a hot Tuesday night at Athlone Stadium.

The first half was for the most part evenly balanced – Vasco were not unduly troubled, though it was Chiefs who certainly enjoyed the edge.

Chances though were few and far between with Mthokozisi Yende managing a weak attempt before Tlou Molekwane forced keeper Posnett Omony to fist the ball to safety with a rocket of a shot after 22 minutes.

The half at least ended with a bit of a flourish as first Vasco’s Keenin Lesch completely missed the ball when attempting a volley 12-yards out and then Abia Nale, clean through on goal, was denied by Omony, who made a brave save.

Amakhosi were on top after the restart, spending most of their time camped in the Vasco half.

But the home side’s defence was rock solid, with Mokete Tsotetsi in particular in superb form against his former team, meaning that the visitors struggled to find any space in and around the box.

The introduction of both Stanton Lewis and Knowledge Musona added fire-power, yet neither were able to get on the end of any clear-cut chances as Chiefs continued to be frustrated.

The draw gives Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town the chance to steal an advantage over the Phefeni Glamour Boys in the title race on Wednesday while Vasco move another point closer to a second season in the top flight.

Its a known fact that Musona's perfomance dropped after seeing Ngcobo's payslip.

Its either they improve his terms of contract or lose him to Sundowns or Pirates. These are Musona's terms.

Most fans from other teams say chiefs fans talk too much, not true it is a syndrome amongst most black people called jealousy. Everyone knows when it comes cabinets kaizer chiefs one is full of trophies that is bragging rights.

Next point in this blog most disrespectful fans on this forum has always been our neighbours. I am sure even most comments under this topic are from our neighbours.

next point for VV to aim for a treble is not wrong at all it is a dream that can come true.

If pirats win the league I will be happy for them, most of my friends are pirats fans and they have leaved under a lot of pain over the last 10 years.

You MaKhosikazi fans should get over yourselves!!! Yesterday some of you were adamant that you were going to overtake Pirates!! When are you guys going to learn that one needs to play and then talk. Also how come you count your chickens before they are hatched. This platform should be about last night's game, and has nothing to do with MaBhakabhaka. I see someone now says let's wait for the last game,,,,,Kuphi khona? You guys better start collecting points before you open your big mouths. It's been proven that Chiefs don't have depth, i.e. Shabba wasn't playing and they drew, the same applies to captain fantastic (Jimmy Tau) Pirates has had injuries but they've been consistent. Anyone in their right frame of minds will notice that this league is tight, I mean don't you guys see that Ajax is a big threat? Chiefs fans need to shut up and get their house in order. Before the golden derby people were saying they will be on top of the log after the 26 of Feb, that didn't happen and yesterday in this forum someone side that they will be on top of the log,,,,kuphi khona??

Since you guys are hypocrites I'll not be surprised if you start following Ajax Cape Town, afterall you like something redish,,,remember MTN8 final when you were Moroka Chiefs? Leave the Buccaneers alone, and ask your coach to stop talking before the game and do what Bra K employed him to do. The coaches whose teams have been consistent, i.e. De Haan and Krol aren't saying anything about winning the league cos they know that the league is not you Telkom knockout.

This league is going to Naturena...Finish and Klaar. Before the league is won, there are too many pretenders to the throne and Pie-rats just cannot seem to miss that chance...and a lot of noise to make it sweeter. It becomes even nicer to see them cry and cry some more because they like to believe in myth (that Pie-rats can win the league). One weakness about these fools is that they do not learn from their mistakes...be reminded about 2003/4 and 2004/5 seasons what happened. I know you are such dundaheads, so much that you are not able to recall.

Niyandicaphukisa yaz!!!

Amakhosi shall rule till The Lord comes back, these pagans.

I did not know that King knows so much, including Gay supporters...keep up the "good work".
