Kaizer Motaung Jnr scores twice against AmaZulu

Posted: 19 January 2011 Time: 21:15

Kaizer Chiefs redeemed themselves with a 3-1 victory over AmaZulu on Wednesday night at the FNB Stadium.

Amakhosi were coming off a defeat after losing to Ajax Cape Town last week, but made their intentions clear as early as the 12th minute. Kaizer Motaung Jnr was picked in the box with a pinpoint cross by Abia Nale and he needed no second invitations as he pounced on it and headed Chiefs into the lead, much to the delight of the Amakhosi faithful.

Usuthu struggled to get into gear for most of the half and it was Chiefs who dominated much of the possession and deservedly took a 2-0 lead 11 minutes from the break.

Skipper Jimmy Tau delivered a fantastic cross from the right in the 36th minute and Motaung Jnr’s excellent diving header handed the Phefeni Glamour Boys a comfortable lead – a goal that goes some distance into silencing the striker’s critics.

Chiefs were not done in this half though, as Knowledge Musona hit the post with a low shot on the stroke of half-time.

Motaung Jnr had to make way for Sthembiso Ngcobo at half-time after he sustained an injury, much to the disappointment of the fans who had witnessed two great goals from the boss’ son.

AmaZulu looked a better side after the break, but there were no decent chances for either side.

However, the crowd eventually got on its feet though when Stanton Lewis, who signed from Ajax Cape Town on loan, made his debut, coming in for Abia Nale in the 78th minute.

But it was AmaZulu that got back into the match. Namibian midfielder-cum-striker Tangeni Shipahu beat Itumeleng Khune from about six yards to set up an exciting finish.

Chiefs though, hit back immediately. Jimmy Jambo blasted a long-range shot to beat Nhlanhla Khuzwayo with a long-range shot to all but seal it for Chiefs.

Bobby should consider selling Ngcobo to Pirates or Sundowns... can partner Khanyeza or Mbuyane.

In return we want Mushweki from Sundowns and no one from bugs!

I don’t understand why a person can decide to go and smoke banned substance?
Comparing Musona with Malokase is crime, and suspect should be sentenced to life imprisonment.
STOP INSULTING MUSONA WITH HIS PRIVATE PARTS PLEASE!
MALOKASE!!!!!.......MALOKASE!!!!!…
WHICH MALOKASE ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? NOT THE ONE I KNOW FOR SURE.

To all those who are busy trying to console themselves by calling Kaizer Junior a cow, WHAT IS A STRIKER AND WHAT IS THE STRIKER'S ROLE IN THE FIELD OF PLAY?

As for Musona not scoring goals: we are not going to be like other pathetic teams and start putting preasure on our players. Musona is not scoring because all teams prepare around him which is also good for Chiefs because the likes of Junior and Ncobo can easily convert the opportunities. And as for Ncobo please ask both Sunclowns and pie-rats.

PSLtrophies; no matter how you look at the first goal, there was not a chance of off-side. You are just desperate (clutching the straws). Next time, as you watch the trajectory of the ball blindly, fix your eyes to the movements of the intended recipient of the ball. This will help you someway in future. You are just exposing yourself.
