Ten-man Stars hold Pirates

Posted: 22 December 2010 Time: 22:53

The 10 men of Platinum Stars put in a fine performance to hold Orlando Pirates to a 0-0 draw at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Indeed, Dikwena had the better of the chances and might even have walked away with all three points were it not for some fine keeping from Senzo Meyiwa in the Bucs goal, even after Lebo Ramolesa had received his marching orders.

Stars were the first to threaten when Ramolesa played an inviting cross into the Pirates’ danger area, but Thuso Phala, who was only left with Meyiwa to beat, directed his attempt wide.

Stars created a lot of chances in the opening period and looked odds on to score, but lacked composure in the box at times.

In a rare foray up the other end, Stars goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini did well to deny Teko Modise what could have been an opener for the home side.

Stars suffered a serious blow when winger Lebo Ramolesa was red carded by referee Jerome Damon for a second bookable offence in 55th minute and Pirates understandably began to see more of the ball after that.

Patrick Malokase had the ball in the net, but the former Bloemfontein Celtic striker was adjudged to have been offside. Stars could have opened the score in the 77th minute through Phala, but he was again denied by Meyiwa in Pirates goal as the keeper parried his well taken shot.

Swona: Dont make a mistake baba on Clifford, he is our material, its just that he is not used according to his streaght.

@ Ajax he was used as a creative middlefield and at Pirates we use him as a defensive middlefield. He plays according to Kroll's instructions and does n't want to be religated to the bench by following Kroll's instructions.

After Ngobeni little essien got an injury, the middle was unstable.

Teko is the best in Mzansi and will win the the player of the year and players pleyer of the year will go to Jali, if they continue with teir class.

I was at the game izolo and I bet my last cent that TEKO is indeed 38 years of age. I mean this old man cannot run any longer.. He is the most overrated player ever in the South African League. My suggestion is that Teko, Vilakazi and Otorogu talk to Sexwale and Motsepe to sponsor the old crock league. They will be the organisers and they can invite all the golden oldies for a special curtain rasers between PDL games. Now thats a retirement plan for them, otherwise they will keep on exposing themselves that the legs and lungs cant take it no longer!!!

@ King! Im not sure what u talking about but i see you have mentioned some names for what Im not sure. If that is the case let me mention some few names that I was conversing with way back in the days when this forum used to be a forum discussing nothing else but soccer. The intrincasies that are associated with the beautiful games! I am talking about guys such as Gratitude Mbulelo, Size 13, Loxion, The Game, Tempy push etc etc including Dikotsi which i see is in your list. These are the guys that came long before bo Thabang et al..So becareful of what u say to me. We started this forum and most of the guys are not regulars anymore cause monkeys like yu have infested this forum with mindless and unconstructive debates about the beautiful soccer!!!

Demon must be investigated. Last week he gifted these Kaizer Chimpanzees a game with a controvetial freekick and Yesterday he denied Pirates a legitimate win by disallowing a perfect goal. Malokase was not offside, he is the one that pass Otorogu.
