Musona's brilliant double downs Aces

Posted: 22 December 2010 Time: 21:48

Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona scored a magnificent brace as Amakhosi cruised to a 2-0 victory over Mpumalanga Black Aces in Witbank on Wednesday.

The Zimbabwean netted an over-head kick and then added a fantastic second to bring Amakhosi to within four points of league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

It took just 55 seconds for Chiefs to find themselves ahead and the opening goal of the game was a piece of pure brilliance on the part of Musona. Thomas Sweswe turned in the perfect ball from the right wing and Musona met the ball with a perfectly executed over-head kick to fire it past Onyango to hand the visitors the lead.

Aces were by no means bystanders in the game and came close to levelling the scores in the 13th minute. Thokozane Khanyile rolled the ball to Walter Ramulondi who went for goal from distance and sent the ball rocketing past Bartman. To the reprieve of the Chiefs keeper the ball hit his right hand upright.

In first half stoppage time Onyango intercepted a pass from Motaung as he tried to find Musona in the six yard box, Chiefs went into the break a goal ahead.

The writing was on the wall for Aces as they would be going down to their fifth successive defeat when Musona turned home a pass from close range after he had been put on goal by Jimmy Tau in the 53rd minute, 2-0.

Even when Aces did manage to get sight of goal they were frustrated by firm goalkeeping as was the case in the 60th minute. Marwaan Bantam’s corner from the left was flicked to the far post by Sibusiso Dabi and Bafo Biyela hit it goalwards only for Bartman to push the ball up and over his post to safety.

With a quarter of an hour to go Masondo sent a header agonisingly close to goal, Aces frustrations were summed up when Bienvenue Tipa miss hit the ball from close range in the 90th minute and the ball went straight to Bartman.

Musona is overrated. He is using too much MUTI. I personally know him. He is from Chipinge next to the border from Zim to Moz. His farther name is Ndukwe Musona a biggest Traditional doctor and Sangoma in Zim who owns 8 pythons. Mxm.

I said it before, Chiefs will win the league, iSundowns should stay on Top until end of First leg to gaurantee second spot. And sizozibambela yona on 8 Jan 11, told my friends so even before last 3 Chiefs games. I was at Orlando yesterday, Pirate failed with so many chances and I take my hat off for Mabizela. He got them frustrated Orchastrating the backline and single handedly hold 1 by 1 and ensure no one pass, Teko, Segolela, Otorugu, Makonese, Mayambela and more, they all knows

the big 3 are making the race interesting and fun.

Average Chiefs must just beat Sundowns on the 08 Jan 2011, The second round is going to be a mission for the big 3, teams are wounded and scared of religation.

Chiefs does n't have the quality to win the league, Bakhapha i-Pirates.

People, jealous down that boy Musona is a brilliant striker, I do like players that can create something out of nothing (see his second goal last night). With composure and maturity he is still going to be deadly despite his small physical frame. 9 halfway thru the season. Its good to have a deadly striker but could be costly at times esp with sub par Ngcobo not finding a net.
SSU goes where they belong and the big 3 flexing muscle for second round!!!

Wonder, the same Aces u're talking about did beat the Galaxy of Stars in Mayfair. So there's no easy team in PSL except Swallows for now! Musona deserves to play in Holland or France for now. He's still young and needs to be moulded in better leagues than PSL. He has scored 3 goals against Pirates, a goal against us (Sundowns) during the first Telkom Cup this year, against Wits, Supersport and Swallows. And he's scoring against small teams like Vasco, Aces, etc...he's really a big deal in South Africa!!!

The race for the title is far from over- we can be ahead of Pirates and trailing by 4 points behind the team that lost izolo, but that does not mean we will take it. Games are still gonna be lost, drawn and won- I just hope we aim for the win all the time even though reality dictates that we will never win all the games. We should not be surprised when we find ourselves at number 5 or six in some time to come, then bounce back again at number 2 or 1 where we as the biggest team deserve to be- such will be the reality and as Khosis we should be prepared for such. But for now we should embrace every victory coming our way.
