Kaizer Chiefs down Moroka Swallows

Posted: 20 October 2010 Time: 22:02

Kaizer Chiefs beat Moroka Swallows 1-0 in a League match on Wednesday night.

Abia Nale scored the game’s only goal early on, sending Amakhosi up to third on the table, while the Birds remain rooted to the bottom after picking up just one point from their first five matches.

Chiefs got off to a flying start and took the lead in just the second minute of the match. Mthokozisi Yende lifted a clever ball over the top of the Swallows defence, allowing Abia Nale to run through on goal. The attacker’s initial effort was saved by Greg Etafia but the rebound hit him and ran into the open goal, handing Chiefs an early advantage.

And the Amakhosi should have twice extended their lead within the first 20 minutes, with both Kaizer Motaung Jr and Nale seeing close range efforts blocked by some desperate Birds defending.

Swallows gradually began to get a foothold in the game and toward the end of the first half they created a few opportunities from which they should have at least drawn level.

Oscar Machapa set up a chance for Mfundo Shumana but the midfielder stabbed his shot over the bar when he should have at least tested the goalkeeper, while Auguston Leonard twice used his pace to get away from Dominic Isaacs but was unable to beat Itumeleng Khune.

Chiefs started the second half on the front foot and very nearly scored a second in the opening minutes, with Reneilwe Letsholonyane denied only by the width of the post after a searing half-volley.

The Amakhosi should have killed off the game in the 79th minute when Nale skipped past a defender before finding himself one-on-one with Etafia, but the Swallows ‘keeper made an excellent smothering stop to keep his side in the game.

Etafia’s heroics proved to be in vain, but they shouldn’t have been. Swallows substitute S’celo Zuma was presented with a wonderful scoring chance in the 87th minute after meeting Leonard’s right-wing cross but he only succeeded in directing his shot wide of the near post.

This Ngcobo should go play for the reserve team.It was hard to pick up the Man of the match although mine was Nale. This boy should be the top goal scorer if he can just be cool and decisive in the 18 box. He can make his own way.
Tau is special but he tires quickly, Jambo is a marvel to watch. Sweswe is better than Nahayo, Isaacs should notlose his otherwise excellent timing, yeye is a marel although towards the end he looked like he wants to gift Swallows something, Nngo is getting back to his best, junior is was much better today, I dont like this boy Masango ,he is too ameturish, he should be loaned to Celtics, Musona is a germ no matter what, always dangerous, Yende is still to get his best, Josta has a special role at chiefs, he is teh stabiliser an does it with aplomb, hhehehehe..that was my analysis of players. Of the game will follow shortly..i need to sleep.

When asked about age cheating

I quote
“I don’t want to name players but I know there is a big player in South Africa, a national team player who is currently struggling with form. It’s not form. It’s natural ageing process taking over. I can tell you that, that boy will never bounce back to where he was because it is age, not form that is hurting him. The player is meant to be 29 and he is actually about 36! He is a household name; plays for one of the biggest teams in the country but nobody will come out and say exactly what is going on.”

Does Ntsie Maphike know anything we don’t know? But who is this soccer player my fellow bloggers?

Good passing game by Kaizer chiefs, actually the team seem to have found its identity. Ok , let's look at the stats: Games played - 5, Goals against - 1, Goals for - 5, 4 different players have scored in the process (Shaba, Nahayo, Nale & Musona) - well good but not good enough. If you are going to dominate games and create an average of five "clear" chances per game then we should be scoring an average of 3 per game. Please VV focus on this aspect of the game, otherwise in diffence and midfield we are ok based on what I have observed and also the stats don't lie.

On the real, Nale should work on his finishing, he could have bagged a hattrick last night, as for the MAN OF THE MATCH AWARD, I thought Yeye gave a very good account of himself, he worked his socks off, he was ochestrating every move in the midfield, what's more, he was enterprising, even came close to scorin with that half volley, way to go Yeye, show dem boy!

At least VV listen, I said he must start Junior, this cow is better than the Bulawayo old cow, musunu. I said before the game all the cabbages hope rest with junior. Atleast VV swallowed his pride and realised that Junior is a better striker than him or was he instructed by daddy to play his boy or ship out?

Ha ha ha ha!!! Ngcobo is a pure cow, i hope Pitso was watching. Next VV will say he is a better striker than this Ngcobo who was signed by management of the cabbages.
