Pirates fail to win….

Posted: 4 November 2009 Time: 21:43

Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United drew 1-1 in a League match on Wednesday night.

An equalising goal from Team of Choice defender Mor Diouf cancelled out Lucky Lekgwathi’s opener and ensured that the Buccaneers’ winless streak extended to seven games.

Pirates dominated possession but Maritzburg were certainly keen to give their hosts a game and Noah Chivuta almost opened the scoring with a long range effort on 36 minutes that forced Moeneeb Josephs into an excellent save.

In injury time at the end of the first half Lekgwathi scored from close range after a good corner kick from Dennis Masina, sending the home team into the break with a 1-0 lead.

But their advantage was short lived, as Collen Zimba’s free kick was turned home by Diouf. Pirates’ defence, which had been their strength early in the season, once again let them down.

The Buccaneers pushed hard for a winner in the latter stages but the visitors’ defence had an answer for every question they were asked, even when Bageta Dikilu was sent off for a second bookable offence late on.

Pirates are in sixth place on 21 points, six adrift of leaders SuperSport United. Maritzburg lie in 11th place on 16 points.

This is not funny anymore, is Krol and his team running out of ideas. C'mon Mabhakaniya, what happened to the good start in the season.

Things have really changed in soccer.....gonna those days when this 2 teams (chiefs & pirates) play.....it was a matter of how many goals are they going to score to win

But now its a matter of how lucky are we gonna be, either to draw or win.

I hate to admit this but its worrying like hell....though CHIEFS IS STILL THE BEST TEAM EVER ALL TIME, PIRATES JUST COPY....hehehehehe!!!!

Krol is beginning to annoy me with his stuborness. What is this thing of fielding Mashsego despite seeing that the boy is out of form. Why don't he field Makhanya, Kamwendo and and Gert. Mdluli played better compared to other days, but its not enough. I expect more from him. Unless that,he should be kept out. Furthermore, Krol seem to have reached the peak with his game plans. he does not seem to have another game plan, except that kind of formation. that game plan is no lonegr working, and every team seem to know pirates in and out.

Kazi kwakhala nyonini where exactly did we put our foot wrong? This is fastly becoming unacceptible boys, and it compels me to support my home team when you come to play Aces.

Eish! I had a great evening at the Atlantic stadium in Emalahleni, as Aces gave KC a fright of their lives. So continue to play this nonsense Pirates i will support Aces as i did against KC.

Good Kroll, Your starting line up has changed,

Mdhluli is the only liability,

Teko must rest as well as Mashigo. Jali and Gert must do the job now.

We are behind this team, no matter what, I am even buying a Red jersey today to further extend my loyalty
