Chiefs, Pirates in stalemate

Posted: 31 October 2009 Time: 17:14

A late attack by Kaizer Chiefs is not enough to break the deadlock in a mediocre Soweto Derby.

Substitutes Knowledge Musona and Chippa Nhleko kept Chiefs on the attack, but while a few scoring chances were created late on it never looked as if one would be put away.

Bucs midfielder Andil Jali deserves a mention for some tigerish tackling in helping Bucs keep the score level.

Siphiwe Tshabalala’s attempt in the final minute crashed off the woodwork and some may feel Amakhosi deserved a goal here.

But sadly, the match needed somebody to put his hand up and take responsibility and it never came.

Abia Nale, Tshabalala and Musona looked the liveliest in attack for Chiefs while Thulasizwe Mbuyane threatened on occasion for Bucs.

But on both sides, the final pass was just not good enough and genuine creativity was lacking.

The first half, while dominated by Pirates, was very scrappy with both sides giving away possession and neither able to get into any type of rhythm.

Chiefs’ best scoring attempts of the first half came when Reneilwe Letsholonyane let rip from distance with his left, but Moeneeb Jospehs tipped it over the bar for a corner.

From the resultant kick, Kaizer Motaung Jnr got a slight touch with his head, the ball fell to Thomas Sweswe at the back post, but couldn’t keep his left-footed volley down.

Bennet Chenene (late in the game), Mbuyane and Lucky Lekgwathi (from a free kick) came closest for Pirates.

But with their most creative player, Teko Modise, struggling for form, Pirates are in need of somebody else to take responsibility in the final third.

If one can tell me,which match was playing or played during the Soweto Derby? The answer is no match. Why?Becouae the majority of the people are interested in Soweto Derby.People like Sundowns,Super Sport,Free State Stars and Celtics should shut their mouth as they won't play at the same time as the Soweto Derby as they know that no one is interested in watching those underated Derbies.Viva Chiefs and Bucs you have so many supporters.

Idiots like Digga go to the stadium to watch Chiefs fans dancing. I don't know why the Pirates fan are making noise because they were out-numbered in the stands.

The twane derby is the best.. Afterall the psl is the pretoria soccer league.. I can name a lot of reasons why it is the best whereas someone in favour of this dead snake from soweto can only name the number of supports on the stands... Whereas in a derby do u see pirates and chiefs supporters cheering another team except for in the tswane derby?

The biggest rivalry in the league is Sundowns vs. Chiefs.. Even the sabc has stats to prove that.

Downs fans r brainless idiots, anti-football opportunistic. Whats so special about ur derby, cause it never inspire anybody, ur 1-1 draw was not a great game at all, it was just a bad ref. So what drama are u talkin about?

Chiefs must stop using that friggin' Orlando Stadium, that stadium is cursed!

Look at it this way, Pie Fucken Rats were no where to be found, but Chiefs were unable to chow them, de Bliksems!

Shame, Drama King, Mr.Teko Modise must just take pension, sy is klaar!

Katlego Mashego must go back to Matsatsantsa, he is wasting his talent at Pie Fucken Rats!

Jali, must just come home where he belongs, at Naturena, he was the only one from Pie fucken Rats who overstood the meaning of de Derby.

As for Uncle Krol, hmmm....He tried the friggin'striped t-shirt for some luck, but like I said before, He is too predictable with his tactics!

Chiefs failed to win against a dead Pirates team

that can only explain one thing about Chiefs.

They are dead beyond Pirates Deadness.

Teko is still a good player, Its just that a lot has happened in short space of time(New baby,Marriage,Fame,Money etc). It just went straight to his head and now he thinks he is all that. The boy must just come down to earth again.

Craig Roslee must just leave Pirates, he destructing the Dutch master

The game was good especially in the 2nd half while the 1st half was boring. I am a Khosi fan but I give credit to Andile Jali what a hardworker, he reminds me Tso Vilakazi in his times. Masibangene Makhos'amahle!
