Chiefs down Arrows

Posted: 28 October 2009 Time: 21:37

Kaizer Chiefs beat Golden Arrows 2-0 in an Absa Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.

The goals were scored by Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Kaizer Motaung Jnr.

In the early stage Arrows did not look like a team who had contested a Cup Final a few days earlier, but midway through the first half they began to wane.

On 39 minutes Motaung Jnr. sent a perfectly floated cross towards Letsholonyane, who rose to meet the ball and headed it away from Da Rocha and home to put the home team 1-0 in front.

With half time approaching Arrows produced a moment of magic with quick, one-touch passing which almost came to pay dividends when Richard Henyekane back-heeled the ball into the path of Philani Shange, who forced Arthur Bartman to come up with a big save.

In the 42nd minute Letsholonyane and Motaung Jnr. swapped roles, as the former was able to collect a lob over the Arrows defence by Jimmy Tau and square the ball to the unmarked Motaung Jnr. who was able to gently knock the ball home to give Chiefs a 2-0 lead and also put his name into the history books as his goal was Chiefs 600th in the PSL.

Arrows’ best chance of the match came with 25 minutes remaining as Ntlantla Zothwane was able to react quickly to pick up a miss hit clearance by Chiefs keeper Bartman. Zothwane collected the ball and let fly at goal from 22-yards out; his sweetly hit shot went along the ground beat Bartman but could only hit the bottom of the right hand post.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the second half was the failure of a few floodlights which got the fans cheering – it was in the final minute of normal time and did not make much of a difference to the players and both teams continued on to complete the game.

Coach: I didn't enjoy this 3 points becuase of you ....

You're killing our players ,

I'm still trying to digest that incident and it's hard for me and how about those players (Nale & Rooi)
I think it would be appropriate to apologies to these players

I've never seen Sir Alex Ferguson,Jose Morinho,Ancelloti,Arsene Wenger,Bruno Metsu, Manqoba Mqithi, acting like that to their players.

I hope Bobby will find a way to talk to you and this is not the way to treat our players.....if continue with this rubbish...........pls just go back to your country .

We will find another coach who'll treat our players equally

I'm hapi da coach showd Nale who is Boss. y? Bcos Nale messed de form of da team, as coach I ratha put in injured playa dan a playa who fails 2 follow instruction. I mean yelling is a must in club like Chiefs playas know dt. Nale was jus being childish or perhaps a cry baby, he shud man-up and take responsibilty of his mistakes. SA man are sensitive when a white-man yels @ a Black-man but this has nothing to do with Racism. Nale was being a child and wat do children do they cry rush to de dress room.
