Pirates' woes continue

Posted: 28 October 2009 Time: 21:41

AmaZulu consigned Orlando Pirates to their third consecutive League loss with a spirited performance at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday.

The game ended 2-1, with goals from Bradley Ritson and Ayanda Dlamini for AmaZulu and Katlego Mashego for Pirates.

The first half was fairly evenly contested with both teams managing to find the back of the net, but the home side got the decisive goal in the final quarter through their industrious striker Dlamini.

Dlamini had a shot on target a few minutes into the game from a tight angle, but Moeneeb Josephs kept out the effort with a good show of agility. At the other end, Nicolas Gindre was a mere spectator when Andile Jali let rip with a well drilled drive from just outside the area, which flew narrowly past the target.

Ritson stunned the Pirates supporters when he got his name on the score-sheet for the first time this season in the 26th minute. The unmarked Ritson glanced a header past Josephs from a Marc van Heerden set-piece.

Pirates went in search of an equaliser with wingers Bennett Chenene and Dikgang Mabalane giving them much thrust. Five minutes before the interval Chenene lined up Katlego Mashego for a crack at the AmaZulu goals with a precision pass. Mashego responded by firing past Gindre with a well-placed shot.

Similar to the first half, Dlamini hit the side netting early in the second half, before Ritson almost doubled his tally, but his stinging low drive was deflected off target by Josephs' fingertips.

Mlungisi Mdluli had a stab at the AmaZulu goals, but lobbed wide with Gindre all at sea.

On 77 minutes Dlamini beat Josephs’ with a powerful shot from a tight angle, after taking Litha Ngxabi’s pass in his stride and surging passed Lucky Lekgwati.

I rember a certain fool who supports Pie-City saying I quote "Pirates gonna win the league with 5 games to spare". I wonder where the moron is now. Do pierats fans ever learn ? Maybe they are the ones who bring this misfortunes to theor team.Every season their team win two first league matches and they sing "this is our year, we gonna win the league" and history keeps on repeating itself again and again.

Firstly let me congratulate the Khosi family for their 2 days happiness.

Craig Roslee is really sabotaging Kroll, all was well until his arrival, Khoza is thinking

“Why pay so much money if you can get the job done for half the cost, by a South African”

I will rather lose the league than losing to Kaizer Chiefs

It never rains but pours... Three losses in a row, they are so predictable, , close down Mabalane you are done with them... hehehe Pirates plays like Barcelona, hehehe hehehe Teko is god of football.... Krol is mr philosophy... blah blah blah... what is happening now? I think Krol should start enquiring about the bookings at OR Tambo International Airport - - - he is on his way out...

Thanks Amazulu maybe we will be able to read gr8 comments today... Well I cant say much about the South African Brazillians because like Amakhosi they are not consistant,,, but thanks again Platinum Stars they were becoming big headed now..

It seems Krol is quickly running out of ideas and if Pirates lose against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, the man will be in trouble. He seems not aware of that hence he says " a derby is not special", and after that he will then understand that this one is always indeed special. It seems to me Seema's absence is now felt because he was doing well given the goals Pirates conceded last season. I don't recall any match where Pirates lost by more that 2 goal for their season. If Pirates are conceding goals like this and Krol's strength is defending, it means he is to be blamed. He failed to coach strikers last season as they didn't score enough goals, and it was a defender who was a leading goal scorer.

3 games in a row our coach is baseless, enough is enough.pirates is so predictable, bcoz of the style we play, nine games unbeaten but with how many goals.he must book himself a flight after the derby.

When I said pirates is a spaza team....I was attacked

when I said they will loose 6 games in a row...they said I'm wishing for that cos I hate pirates

When we said pirates suffer from early ejaculation syndrome....they said Teko ke modimo was football.,,,,

today I say......hehehehehhee!!!!!!!!!!!

9 clean sheet (shit) counts to nothing especially when you were just lucky through out.

Do you (pirates fans) still calling for Josephs to be No.1 choice for BB??????

It easy to see why we are not winning. The time is overdue for him to change to something that works and is sustainable. How do you explain playing your entire backline out of position: Rooi is not a central defender and so is Lucas Thwala. Lucky Lekgwathi is a right back and not a left back. His left foot is a golf stick. Happy Jele will not give you as good overlapping opportunities as will a natural right back, Lucky or Rooi would and used to give us.

Play Rooi on the right; Lucas on the left; forgive Makonese and bring him back in central defence with Lucky (he's played this position with aplomb before and you have your defence sorted. Start your offence from the back with Rooi and Lucas and now you will be providing more support and options for Dikgang and Chenene. Done!

Pierats have some exciting talent no doubt about it. I just feel that it is gr8 that they are loosing at this early stages as there is still plenty time to catch-up. Chiefs should also add to their woes. We wil call it though love (Wake up or get beaten)
