Santos pull one over Bucs

Santos ended Orlando Pirates’ unbeaten run in the 2009/10 Absa Premiership, with a 1-0 win at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening.

The People’s Team’s Erwin Isaacs scored the only goal of the game late in the first half, securing the visitors an impressive away win.

There was no goalmouth action to speak of in the first half hour of the game, as the two disciplined teams retained their shape and kept things tight at the back.

The players were frustrated by a lack of space in midfield and the rather poor state of the pitch – Orlando Stadium may be one of the country’s best football venues but it’s playing surface is certainly not conducive to the ‘beautiful game’ at present.

In the 32nd minute a defensive error from Santos saw Gert Schalkwyk send Thembinkosi Fanteni clean through on goal but the former Ajax Cape Town striker could only shoot straight at goalkeeper Tshepo Motsoeneng.

On 37 minutes Santos created a great opportunity, with Phikolethu Spelman played in with a wonderful pass, but the striker pulled his shot wide with only Moeneeb Josephs to beat.

However, seven minutes later Spelman provided an inch-perfect cross to pick out an unmarked Isaacs in the penalty area – and the Santos forward finished with aplomb to put the Cape side 1-0 up heading into half time.

Teko Modise nearly brought the Buccaneers level within the first minute of the second half, forcing Motsoeneng into another great save with a well-struck shot direct from a free-kick.

Substitute Bennett Chenene, Fanteni and Lucas Thwala were all unable to hit the target for Pirates, and the Soweto side needed Josephs to make a fantastic save to deny Graham King from making it 2-0 late in the game.

Bucs will loose their next fucken match!

Teko Modise is a drama queen and fake super star!

Pierats have this thing we call "isteam separafini"

I never saw Irvin Khoza attending Pierats matches, he is busy enriching himself and adding another tiltle to his stupid titles. What does he call himself this days?...

Mr,Dr,Col,Eng,Pastor,Capt. Irvin Khoza

Pierats have a long time curse from the generation that founded and formed Orlando Pirates in 1937. Now if you are coming from a cursed family, no matter what, you will always have bad luck.....So, since Irvin "Mr. Everything" Khoza is not keen unless he sign a cheque after Floyd Mbele has bought another useless player, He better give the Chairmanship to someone who will turnaround the bad luck at Pierats, by firstly giving the whole Pierates family including its loud fans a cleansing ceremony....Tell you what...Bucs can reck...

Krol must slaughter a white goat before each match and request luck from his ancestors, because he is such a good Coach and does not derserve this nonsense jinxed Pirates....

The Most hated Chiefs Fan, Mavusana!

AS LONG AS KROL PLAY TEKO EVEN IF HE SEES HE IS TIRED AND OFF-FORM - PIRATES WILL WIN BY LUCK OR CARELESSNESS OF OPPONENTS! GERT WAS PLAYING OKAY - BETTER THAN TEKO - BUT WAS SUBSTITUTED. CHENENE IS A CREATOR OF GOALS BUT WHY START HIM ON THE BENCH? IMAGINE MABALANE-CHENENE COMBINATION ON THE WINGS - STRIKERS WILL HAVE PLENTY OF SUPPLIES! GIVE TEKO 3 WEEKS BREAK TO RECHARGE! PLEASE!
