Valuable win for Chiefs

Posted: 15 September 2009 Time: 21:30

Siphiwe Tshabalala's retaken penalty is enough to give Kaizer Chiefs a precious 1-0 win over Platinum Stars

It was all Platinum Stars in the first half as Chiefs failed to test Wayne Sandilands at all.

Stars had their chances and really should have been two or three goals up at the break.

Almiro Lobo hit the crossbar in a fantastic move involving Alton Meiring and Tsepo Ramokala.

Lobo missed another good chance and Meiring forced two saves out of Arthur Bartman.

Then against the run of play Chiefs scored the opener.

Tshabalala won himself a penalty when he took cleverly on George Mofokeng inside the area, and the big defender made a clumsy challenge.

'Shabba' scored, but had to retake his spot kick and scored again, going the same way as his first strike.

But just before the penalty, Steve Komphela felt that Tshabalala had fouled Stanley Kgatla on route to the penalty area.

A furious Steve Komphela continued to complain and got himself into further trouble with the referee and got sent off for abusing Matthew Dyer.

Substitute Nkosinathi Nhleko came on and helped Chiefs keep the pressure on Stars late in the game.

Tshabalala should have scored a second. But in a one on one situation with Sandilands he takes too long to execute his shot and instead his weak attempt is thwarted.

ROAD TO RECOVERY...

Dr Bobby has issued a statement and outline a plan on how Chifs will overcome this crunch time at Naturena thru this steps:...

1.We will continue with the "REFEREE EMPOWERMENT FUND, as it works wonders from the past seasons.
2.I will always rate my brother Junior,as he is best striker in the world.
3.I won't be running for the SAFA election, even though Sepp Blatter requested.
4.We are planning to open a Zim Branch.
5.I have deploy BROKEFAN and SBUSISO to kill KALI and KiNG,

To be honest Chiefs fans are confused and ignorant at this stage,

Izolo they have admitted that

Their team has average players,
The coach is in-expirienced
The team manager is clueless.

Today they are rejoicing, This is not the way problems are solved. Be consistent Khosi Fans

I wonder why most of them have jersey’s of both Chiefs and Pirates. Instead of Chiefs and Bafana Bafana

Whats your defination of fair and square Sbuda...???

Your team's win yesterday wasn't fair and square because it was as a result of a referee's mistake, delibarate or not. Against Mrtz Utd, you lost fair and square, what was wrong in that game.

Sure, Mofokeng did foul Shabba yesterday, but that was after the same Shabba had committed a foul that the referee ignored.

A Royal Stadium was subjected to paesantry football and paesantry referring. The Bafokeng Gods must be disappointed.

Anyway when has Khosi won a trophy, or top 8 position without dubious decisions.
Mara fede, 3 pts is in their bag. Just hope their bag is not leaking least they lose these pts in thier next game.

SIBUSISO: Go back to my article and show me any reference to a penalty or loss to Mar united. Its clear you just respond to my articles without reading them.

I have always raised issues with bad refeering and like i said b4, this is OUR football, its open for debate by all of us south-Aficans and foreigners; there is nowhere you are going put a block on comments on issues around Chifes....just forget?!

I saw Tshabalala clipping a player and eventually bringing him down in an incident that lasted about 5 seconds...if you do not like that tough like. Yes maybe i over-reacted but don tell me u did not insult me.....

I have No time to respond to your cheap threats...just go hang a 1000 times but if you are serious then go ahead.....u can ask for my details....i will give them to you

Today the security guard, Bra T, a Khosi die heard greeted me pleasantly after weeks of grinning. My Khosi collegues offered to buy me lunch 2day. In fact it is the first time I hav so much laughter in the office in weeks.

What saddens me is that come Saturday things wil go back 2 wat they wer in recent weeks. As Dolezer would wat Chiefs is doing to these poor souls is criminal.

Hehehe, you are precisely the reason kids under 14 are discouraged from having kids. By some strange coincidence, your brain has taken over the job your arse should be doing. I rest my case.

Chiefs should give praises to referee he help them a lot last night. I washed the game and I can tell you there was no threat from Chiefs up front. If it wasn’t that penalty then there wouldn’t have been any goal from Kaiser Chiefs. Platinum Stars have themselves to blame, they should have won the game especially in the first half. Chiefs look dysfunctional with low morale on the players’ characterize by poor performance.

I can still smell more defeat from Naturena. Having lost 3 games at still early stage, then they are no longer contenders for the championship. Supersport, Santos, Pirates, Sundowns, Arrows and Ajax would still collect maximum points from this disjointed team.
