Swallows, Wits in stalemate

Posted: 18 May 2008 Time: 17:43

Moroka Swallows and BidVest Wits have played to a 0-0 draw in the Absa Premiership at the Olympia Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The result means the Dube Birds end the League in seventh, but for BidVest Wits, a 12th-place finish will be disappointing in a campaign that promised so much, but tailed-off in the second half of the season.

Wits had the better of the play, but couldn’t force the ball home as Dale Studzinski, Kenwyn Manuel and Clive Moyo-Modise went close.

And it was Bevan Fransman who almost stole the points for Swallows deep into injury-time, as his shot from 35-yards struck the post and bounced away to safety.
