26' - Germany pass it around in midfield, before Boateng overcooks his cross into the box which goes out for a goal-kick. These two sides have never drawn in their previous nine meetings, in which 36 goals have been scored, so expect the game to open up in the second half (we hope).
23' - Kroos looking threatening at the edge of the 18-yard area, yet is swarmed by a sea of white shirts as he is dispossessed and Howard collects.
21' - CHANCE! Good counter-attacking football by the USA as Zusi receives a ball from the left, unleashing a stinging shot which flies narrowly over the bar!

2' - Muller tries a spectacular volley on goal, but it goes horribly wrong. The ball lands at the feet of Podolski, who shoots high and into the stands.
1' - The Uzbekistan referee gets the game underway! USA in their traditional white kit, Germany in their changed black and red strip.
The anthems are being belted out ahead of kick-off...
Despite being in immaculate condition, the pitch at the Arena Pernambuco will be soaked as it’s been raining heavily since 10pm yesterday in Recife. The crowds are dressed for the occasion, with many donning packets over their colourful attires.
Germany are in the pound seats as they top the standings on four points with a goal difference of [+4], while the USA, also on four points, have a goal difference of [+1].
A draw will see both sides through to the Last 16, yet a high-scoring win in the simultaneous group fixture between Ghana and Portugal combined with a USA loss could see the United States on their way home.
Both sides come off a 2-2 draw in their last fixtures, while Germany lead the head-to-head statistics against the Americans with six wins compared to America's three.
The team line-ups have been announced:
USA XI: Howard, Gonzalez, Bradley, Besler, Beasley, Dempsey (c), Jones, Davis, Beckerman, Zusi, Johnson
Germany XI: Neuer, Howedes, Hummels, Schweinsteiger, Ozil, Podolski, Muller, Lahm (c), Mertesacker, Kroos, Boateng
