93' - SUB Argentina: Biglia (ON) for Di Maria (OFF)

91' - GOAL! It's none other than Lionel Messi who scores with a sumptuous from range!

90' - Haghighi fists away a ball played into his 18-yard area. Four minutes added on.

88' - Still the illusive goal evades Argentina, whose final ball has yet to trouble the Iranian goalkeeper.

85' - CHANCE! Ghoochannejad breaks and runs at the Argentine defence, forcing a fine out-stretched save from Romero!

84' - Haghighi with a save on the other end of the field. Resulting corner for Argentina again produces no end product.

83' - Iran win a free-kick on the edge of the box, but the delivery is poor, evading everyone as it flies wide for a goal-kick.

81' - CHANCE! Rojo shoots wide of the left upright!

80' - Argentina's seventh corner again amounts to nothing. Iran break, but the final ball is swept away buy Argentina's defence.

76' - DOUBLE SUB Argentina: Lavezzi and Palacio (ON) for Higuain and Aguero (OFF)

75' SUB Iran: Heidari (ON) for Shojaei (OFF)

74' - CHANCE! Di Maria on the left of the box shoots straight at the Irania goalkeeper Haghighi, who blocks his shot!

71' - Shojaei brings down Di Maria on the edge of the box and goes into the referee's book. Messi's spot kick hits the side-netting.

69' - Rojo with a cleverly-played ball into the box, but it's over everyone and rolls out for a goal-kick. Argentines getting frustrated, with just 20 minutes left to find a goal.

67' - CHANCE! Biggest chance of the game goes to Dejagah, who gets in front of Zabaleta and heads goal-wards, forcing a finger-tip save from Romero!

65' - Iran looking a little more attack-minded in the second half as they win another corner. Dealt with by the South American defence.

63' - CHANCE! Haji Safi's long-range strike is deflected out for a corner! Resulting set-piece bobs around in the Iranian box before being hoofed clear.

51' - CHANCE! Romero makes his first save of the match, denying a Reza header! Best chance for Iran so far.

49' - CHANCE! Zabaleta tries curling it in from the left after a lay-off from Messi, but it's wide.

48' - Rojo delivers a dangerous cross from the left, but the Iranian defence remains solid and it is easily dealt with.

46' - Early corner for Argentina in the second period, which Gago takes, but it's headed clear. Mascherano's follow up ball is too strong for gago to retrieve out wide. Goal kick Iran.

45' - The second half is underway!

Half-time: Argentina 0-0 Iran

41' - CHANCE! Iran with a corner that Hosseini heads over the bar! Best chance for the Asians in the half.

12' - Iran with more than three passes for the first time in the game, yet a long-ball is overcooked and goes out for an Argentine goal-kick.

10' - Di Maria with silky skills on the left, crosses in but the ball is cleared away. Argentina gather and come straight back at the Iranian defence, only to have Messi's shot blocked.

I would like to see how this Iran will respond if a goal is scored against them. They now play for 0-0 draws. Of course they seem excellent at it.

If CQ is indeed coming to BB then 'parking the bus' will be the order at BB. Iran can defend but when they attack they don't send enough players so they can take advantage when the GK spill's the ball back to play.

Messi's goal was just pure class.
