France are in the pound seats as they lead the group by three points and have all but qualified for the knockout stages, yet Ecuador are not guaranteed a spot. They will need to win, or hope Honduras do them a favour in the simultaneous Group E fixture against Switzerland.
France are unbeaten in their last six World Cup matches against South American opposition, yet are without the suspended Yohan Cabaye for this game. Having already qualified however, they make six changes from their last match where they dispatched the Swiss 5-2, while Colombia make just one change from their victorious side that beat Honduras 2-1.
These two sides have met just once before in a friendly in 2008 which France won 2-0.
