FULL TIME: Australia (Cahill 21, Jadanek 54) 2-3 (Robben 20, Van Persie 58, Depay 68) Holland.

90+2 - Australia pressing in the closing stages.

90 - There will be at least three minutes of optional time.

87 - HOLLAND SUB: Lens replaces Van Persie, who hands the armband over to fellow scorer Robben.

86 - Van Persie is hobbling along after he landed awkwardly from an aerial challenge. He looks to be all right though.

84 - Vlaar shows good strength to shield the ball to safety away from Bozanic down the flank.

78 - HOLLAND SUB: Wijnaldum replaces fellow midfielder De Guzman.

77 - AUS SUB: Taggart replaces Oar.

74 - Good save by Ryan to deny De Jong's shot in the box!

73 - Sneijder has an effort blocked on the edge of the area following good work by Robben down the right.

70 - AUS SUB: Halloran replaces Cahill.

68 - HOLLAND GOAL! The sub Depay beats Ryan with a swirling effort from range! Australia 2-3 Holland!

67 - Leckie has an unorthodox chested effort saved by Cillessen after Oar drilled in a cross! Oar really should taken a shot himself there.

58 - HOLLAND GOAL! Van Persie thumps the ball home from inside the area for his third goal of the tournament! Australia 2-2 Holland!

54 - AUSTRALIA GOAL! Jadanek slots the penalty. Australia 2-1 Holland!

53 - PENALTY FOR AUSTRALIA! The sub Bozanic makes an immediate impact, as his cross strikes the hand of Janmaat in the box and the ref Haimoudi points to the spot!

51 - AUS SUB: Bozanic replaces Bresciano.

50 - Ryan stretches to tip wide a shot from Sneijder. It looked to be missing though.

47 - HOLLAND YELLOW: Van Persie is booked. That's his second caution of the competition, meaning he will miss his country's final group game against Chile on Monday.

47 - Leckie nearly finds a way through but he is correctly blown up for a shove on Blind.

46 - We are back underway. No changes at the interval.

HT: Australia (Cahill 21) 1-1 (Robben 20) Holland. Australia have surprisingly set the pace in the opening stanza.

45+2 - HOLLAND SUB: Depay has replaced the injured Martins Indi.

45 - There will be two minutes of added time.

43 - AUS YELLOW: Cahill is cautioned for a challenge on Martins Indi, who has been stretchered off. It's Cahill's second booking of the tournament, meaning he will miss his country's final group game against Spain on Monday.

40 - De Jong is blown up for another foul, he looks good for a caution this afternoon.

37 - The Dutch are struggling to get on the ball here, who would have thought this is what the opening period would deliver?

35 - Vlaar cuts out a left-wing cross from the overlapping Davidson.

31 - Bresciano powers a drive narrowly over from the edge of the area following good work from Leckie! There wasn't much in that.

30 - Australia, to their credit, are matching their illustrious opponents. However, they do look vulnerable on the counter.

27 - Blind has a menacing cross from the left cut out by the Aussies, with Van Persie lurking. Blind perhaps should have gone on his own there.

21 - AUSTRALIA GOAL! Cahill swiftly equalises with a scorching volley in off the underside of the bar! Fantastic finish from the Socceroos' record scorer! Australia 1-1 Holland.

20 - HOLLAND GOAL! Robben races clear and scores with an angled left-footed drive for his third goal of the tournament! Scary pace from the Bayern star!

18 - Robben goes down in dramatic fashion to earn a free-kick on the right flank. His delivery is glanced goalward by Van Persie, but the Manchester United man is unable to generate any real power and Ryan collects with ease.

16 - Bresciano has a shot charged down on the edge of the box after he latched onto Leckie's low cross from the right.

15 - A mammoth Mexican Wave is doing the rounds, let's hope the supporters' contagious enthusiasm is soon matched for excitement on the park. Still goalless.

13 - No real action to speak of, although the Aussies will be pleased with their bright start.

7 - Oar sends in a useful left-wing cross aimed at Leckie but Dutch goalkeeper Cillessen collects with authority.

5 - Robben bursts forward with intent but a poor touch allows the Aussie defence to regather and clear their lines. No doubt they will be well aware of the threat posed by the Bayern Munich winger.

3 - Oar and Holland's De Jong collide in a heavy midfield exchange, with the ref Haimoudi ruling in favour of the former.

1 - We are underway as Netherlands kick off proceedings in bright sunlight!

It's now the turn of the Dutch, who typically enjoy some festive vocal support in the stands.

The teams make their way out on the field as they prepare for the national anthems. Australia are first up.

Holland, of course, are riding high following their spectacular 5-1 humiliation of champions Spain - a result which helped ease, if not banish their 2010 heartache.

Australia, meanwhile, went down 3-1 to Chile in their respective tournament opener, and will naturally be desperate to spring an upset at the Estadio Beira-Rio.

The teams have been announced:

Australia XI: Ryan, Davidson, Spiranovic, Leckie, Oar, Jedniak, Cahill, McKay, McGowan, Wilkinson, Bresciano.

Holland XI: Cillessen, Vlaar, De Vrij, Martins Indi, Blind, De Jong, Janmaat, De Guzman, Van Persie, Sneijder, Robben.
