Ghana and Libya drew 1-1 in a Group C African Nations Championship match at Free State Stadium on Friday evening.
The Ghana goal was scored by Mohammed Yahaya early in the first-half while Faisal Mansour Ali got the equaliser in the second hlaf for Libya.
The Black Stars took the lead in the sixth minute through Mohammed.
The sturdy forward shook-off marker before directing a powerful header past Mohamed Abdaula, 1-0.
Ghana continued dominating proceedings, with Mohammed the prime mover.
The sturdy striker sent a powerful effort just over from range in the 23rd minute before being presented with a clear-cut opportunity to double his tally on the stroke of half-time.
After completely outwitting two Libyan defenders he was handed the simple task of placing the ball into the back of the net, but he could only manage to direct his attempt straight at the grateful Mohamed Abduala.
Libya looked a different outfit after the break and Elmutasem Abushnaf should’ve levelled matters in the 51st minute, but he could only manage to direct his header straight at Stephan Adams from close-range.
The Libyan forward thought he doubled his tally in the tournament two minutes later but the goal was disallowed after the linesman adjudged that he had fouled a Ghanaian defender before finding the back of the net.
The Libyans had an opportunity to pull level after Nuru Sulley fouled Mohamed Ghanudi inside the area in the 72nd minute. Faisal Ali stepped up and coolly placed the ball into the corner of the net, 1-1.
Adams made a superb stop to keep out Ali’s curling free-kick and subsequently deny the Knights all three points in stoppage time.
The tie leaves the two sides deadlocked at the top of the table with one fixture remaining in the group stages.
