PSL Match Report Ndoro double downs Urban Warriors

Posted: 28 March 2014 Time: 19:24

Tendai Ndoro bagged a brace as Mpumalanga Black Aces beat Ajax Cape Town 2-0 in an Absa Premiership clash at Athlone Stadium on Friday night.

The Zimbabwean striker scored both goals on the night to secure three points for Clive Barker's side, who move up to sixth on the Premiership table.

The visitors started the game on the perfect note when Ndoro provided a clinical left-footed finish from Onyekachi Okonkwo's pass as early as the second minute to put his side 1-0 up.

After the shock of conceding an early goal, Ajax gradually worked themselves back into the game and looked dangerous on attack, though it was Aces who nearly scored again just past the 30-minute mark when Abia Nale’s shot was pushed away for a corner kick by Anssi Jaakkola.

The hosts continued to look dangerous going forward, but it was Aces creating the better chances. Jaakkola was forced into another good save just before the break, keeping out an Onyekachi Okonkwo effort with his legs and then denying Method Mwanjali from a free-kick.

The Urban Warriors goalkeeper came up with another good save just before the hour mark, keeping out an angled drive from Ndoro, while Ajax substitute Simba Sithole was unlucky to see a glancing header skim off the crossbar with 15 minutes to play.

In the 78th minute Aces made sure of the three points as Ndoro scored from a tap-in set up by a one-two with Thabo Qalinge after the away side caught Ajax on the counter-attack.

Congrats to Clive for improving this small club to this level, they are surely not that whipping boys anymore. But what are they doing to our jujuman there, he's not playing, Mara why man Clive? Surely you signed the guy for some reason. Mxm juju made a hasty decision to leave bucs but his situation is worse than at bucs cause now a small pikinini of a team is benching him.  Who leaves bucs for the likes of aces anyways! Once and always bucs.

I agree, he's a very good goal keeper. Ajax would have lost more matches than they have done if it wasn't for him. He's one of the top goal keepers in the PSL, it's just that his defence let's him down sometimes.
