Mpumalanga Black Aces twice came from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw at Platinum Stars in their Premiership clash at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Tuesday night.
Dikwena were given an early lead by Mogakolodi Ngele, only for the visitors to hit back through Clifford Ngobeni in the second half.
Stars took the lead again through Henrico Botes, a record 28th goal for the North West side, but Dennis Masina came off the bench to earn a point for Amazayoni.
The result was a fair one in a game in which both teams created enough chances to win.
Stars made the best possible start when Ngele latched onto Siphelele Mthembu’s pass to score, a lead they managed to hold onto until half-time, with Siyabonga Mpontshane making a fine save to keep out Clifford Ngobeni.
But the former Bafana Bafana midfielder was not to be denied and got his goal five minutes after the break to make the score 1-1.
Botes restored the home side’s lead and in doing so moved past Dingane Masanabo to 28 goals for the club, the most in their PSL history.
That was the way it stayed until eight minutes from time, when Swaziland international Masina came off the bench to earn the visitors a point.
Both sides will be in action again over the weekend, with Stars away at Moroka Swallows on Friday night, while Black Aces host fellow strugglers Golden Arrows on Saturday.
